Ok! Glad the bands were fun!

by J on 2022-09-06Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

The venue wasn’t great, it’s a giant concrete room with very little sound absorption. Only sounded good right in front. Water was $3.50 per bottle and we all shared a single water fountain to refill. No re-entry is lame, had to hold on to merch all night. Smoke pit and food options had zero shading on potentially the hottest day of the year.

good but could have been better

by PhilG on 2022-09-06Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

The audio for a couple of the bands (Descendents specifically) was not good unless you were specifically in front of the audio booth. The audio could have been louder as well. In the 'Music" side of the venue I asked 5 staff and a supervisor how to buy a beer and NO ONE KNEW! They didn't know if I needed tickets or if it was cash\debit! An epic failure from the people who were selling the beer! The craft beer and food vendors, merch table, security, and other event staff were excellent. The signage was visible and appropriate. I like how this venue runs shows, easy fun and no hassles.

No beer tasting. Terrible sounds. Over priced beer and food.

Great show but no in and outs.

by Cassie on 2022-09-06Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

The event started at 12 for our VIP ticket and went until 11pm. They had a no in and outs policy at the venue. Unfortunately we could not make the entire event because 11 hours was a bit to long and left at 6pm. I would have loved the option to head out for a few hours and come back to see the headliner NOFX at the end. However my medical condition resulted in having to leave early and the no in and outs prevented us from returning later.

    Punk In Drublic Ultra VI

by Pat on 2022-09-06Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

It’s was great overall. The Ultra VIP wasn’t worth the cost as you couldn’t see anything with the stage they setup for us. All the stage hands stood on the stage blocking the view. Would go again but just general or VIP only.

    Wouldn't go again

by dunk79 on 2019-07-11Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

Meh. They had to move it indoors so immediately upon arrival we noticed the sound quality was horrible. The Beerfest part we must've overlooked that it ended at 4 but even if we would've shown up early the line ups were massive and a bunch of vendors ran out of beer - we got 1 sample. Then when we moved into the other side where the show was happening we got our first drink no problem but after that it was a minimum 30 minute line up to get a drink. We talked to one guy who stood in line for over an hour to get a drink. Then when you got up there they would sell out of certain beers and they didn't even have water to buy! I'm not sure about bylaws in Edmonton but pretty sure you need to have water available when selling booze.... We went out to the lobby to take a break and went to try and get a water from a vending machine - they were all out of order except one. When I got a bottle there were only 4 left in that machine. Food - stood in line at one of only I think 5 food trucks... waited for about 20 minutes, when the line didn't even move we gave up. Ended up leaving early to go back to where we were staying to order pizza. Piss poor organization at this event.

    Good but bad

by Travis on 2019-07-11Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

Craft beer portion was great, but once the concert began, its was 45 minute line ups for drinks, with bar staff that wouldnt serve certai beers that they specifically didnt have in their ice tub, despite havig those beers 5 feet away in the tub of the next bartender. Expo rules they claimed. If that is so, the expo center venue is terrible. 10/10 Will not return to that venue.

    Myeah

    by M. R. on 2019-07-11Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

Beer lineups were long an hour on average to get to the end of the line and the stage area cluttered and poorly lit not much of a big rock show venue goer anyway

The Venue was Awful, Music Incredible!

by KenDog on 2019-07-10Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

The event promised dozens of beer vendors, which you’d expect for a “Beer Festival.” When we arrived there were probably a little over a half a dozen of vendors. That was disappointing. Once the show started, we started to get excited. We grabbed a couple drinks and watched watched some of the show. Getting another drink was the issue. Wait times of an hour to get a drink was absolutely terrible. Not only did it take you away from the show but waiting in line was painful. I feel it was very poorly set up. If I didn’t absolutely live the bands playing I would’ve left. Kind of disappointed in the set up.

    Good show but long lineups

by Ss on 2019-07-10Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

NOFX was excellent but was very poorly disorganized. It was an all afternoon evening thing and only 3 working food trucks. We were so starving and had to miss all of bad religion due to waiting in a food line. Most of the other times we were waiting in the bar line. We weren’t allowed re entry so we couldn’t even step out to grab a quick bite to eat.

    Excellent

by Strungout on 2019-07-10Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

The show was fantastic, despite everyone’s complaints about the beer lines and such, I was there for the bands. They all played amazingly and put on one of the best shows I’ve been to. Hopefully this becomes a regular occurrence as seeing a group of such spectacular punk bands is an irregular occurrence in Canada

    Thirsty!

by Thrillhouse on 2019-07-09Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

Event was well organized outside of the beer lines. Waits were no shorter than 45 minutes and peaked at one hour and ten minutes. First dissatisfied experience with Edmonton Expo Centre in that regard. The punk rock portion more than made up for it, as even though I was standing in line for 95% of the show, at least I could HEAR what was going on.

    It was mediocre at best

by leener on 2019-07-09Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

The venue is truly not meant to have live bands at it. The sound and acoustics were terrible to the point where many times it was muffled and you couldn't really tell what was being sung. And the line ups for food and beverages were outrageously long to the point where you would have to stand in line for nearly an hour. I wont be going to another concert at the EXPO centre.

Craft beer festival was amazing, great band line up

by Rollie on 2019-07-09Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

The expo centre had horrible acoustics, still sounded good when you were up front, the biggest down side of the whole thing was the bar lines, missed full sets waiting to get a drink, they need to figure out how to speed things up

    Great bands, shoddy organization

by Lola on 2019-07-09Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

The music as always was stellar. Not a lot of thought went into the fact that marijauna being legal would increase thirst and hunger. Food truck lines, beer lines and vending machine lines where way to long. Must account for that next time and have more food trucks and beverage stands. Be prepared We are in a whole new era!!

    Great show, terrible venue

    by M. L. on 2019-07-09Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

The show itself was amazing, the beer festival before the concert was great, but the venue was terrible. The sound was bad (the venue is basically a large gym, not well suited for live music), worse than that was the lineups for beer, took over 45 mins to get a couple of beers in the VIP section which cost more in part to provide a 'private' cash bar.

    vip was a ripoff

by skapunxprincess on 2019-07-09Edmonton EXPO Centre - Edmonton

EDMONTON event was suppose to be outside - due to weather was moved indoors, and I don't think it was executed well at all.. the vip was a rip off (besides the washrooms) the view was worse than ga, beer lines were still over 30 mins longin vip, then the food truck lines were well over 45 mins long, and out of 5 one closed early.. PLUS we didn't get our cups - where's my f'n cup??? not really the Festivals fault vs the venue (but they still got to know what these venues are up to...) On a great Note the band were awesome and I'd still go again just wouldn't spend the extra $$ as it's not worth it. #lovelessthanjake #LTJbestbandonthedocket #NOFXalwaysawesome #chixdiggetIsuredid
