Horrible sound - stop putting concerts in the Expo center. It's a warehouse... Beer lines were ridiculous - don't market it as a beer festival if you don't have enough servers. Fat Mike from NOFX needs to shut his mouth and play songs instead. Bad Religion were awesome.
Even though the venue had to be moved inside last minute due to weather, the set up was great and all bands put on an amazing show. NOFX were as usual entertaining with their banter and stage show. They played some pretty great music as well :) The only thing that ruined the day were the beer line ups. Incredibly slow. Not a word of a lie, standing in line for one beer, I missed nearly the entire Bad Religion set. Luckily I was in the VIP section so could still hear them while i waited, but those in the regular line ups, not so lucky.
An hour for food, an hour for a beer...get yourselves together. Acoustics not great at EXPO. I loved NOFXs set though. Wish I had not missed Less Than Jake waiting for sustinence.
The only thing that the VIPs had over the GAs was the exclusive bar, and the VIP viewing area, which was actually in a better location than the UVIP viewing area in my opinion. I'm just mostly upset that we were promised special PID cups, and we didn't get them. I have no memorabilia from this event other than a Bad Religion shirt! Could've been so much better. Also yes, NOFX really DOES suck live.
Super fun day with some great bands, I hope it comes back again next year
Sound was about what you expect from being inside the Expo Centre. Muddy and distorted if you were too far away from the stage. But then again, this was never a venue designed for concerts. As for the beer lines, so poorly managed, it almost ruined the entire show. Too slow, not enough staff, so much overserving it was ridiculous. Staff were letting people buy 4 beer at a time, and do shots. Next time have a HARD limit if 2 and a dedicated mixed drink line to move things along better.
