About

There is a moment where every artist decides that it is best to create music based on instinct rather than expectation. For PVRIS, a three-piece rock band from Boston, that moment came during their conception. The trio formed in the studio while making songs for a previous project and realized that they needed to collectively eschew any preconceived idea of what music should be. “It occurred to us that we should just make whatever we want and not worry about fitting into the local scene,” Lynn says. “Our vision was whatever we felt like doing. It was about making what we felt like making in the moment.” That vision has manifested itself into PVRIS’s debut album White Noise, which follows an acoustic EP that came out in April of 2014. The album is its own entity, a collection of dynamic, surging rock songs that combine the musicians’ collective influences and inspirations. The band has continually fostered an interest in electronic music and hoped to organically bring those sounds into their pop-tinged rock numbers. “We knew we wanted to go in a more electronic direction on the album,” Lynn says. “We had that vision but we had no clue how it would actually sound. We let the music find itself.” PVRIS, who has toured the U.S. several times in the past few years and played Warped Tour in the summer of 2014, have reimagined their live set-up to reflect the album. Ultimately, PVRIS wants to make music that is their own. Without expectation, the musicians have songs that give something important to their audience – whatever that may be. “I hope people can take anything they desire away from this record,” Lynn says. “It can be anything. We made the music because we loved it and now it can belong to everyone else.”

Awesome show! Only negative feed back Id have to give is the sound quality. Idk if it's the sound guy, position of speakers, or the venue acoustics itself but the opening act I couldn't hear her sing almost at all over the music except when she was belting out the chorus. PVRIS was a bit better but still not consistant. And I was located basically dead center floor. However overall an amazing show! Would totally recommend/attend again.

Fantastic concert at a really cool venue. Love the fact the floor slopes towards the stage so you get a great view wherever you stand, so much better than flat arenas

PVRIS give you something to talk about

by Roanna on 2017-10-23REBEL - Toronto

I've seen PVRIS live a handful of times, and they honestly just keep getting better (it helps that I have a massive girl-crush on frontwoman Lynn Gunn). Their set this time was a mix of hits from their debut album, as well as a good chunk of songs from their latest release. You might not think their songs would translate to a live setting, given all the electronics on the album versions, but they're a talented group and songs like "St. Patrick" and "Winter" sound just as powerful in person as they do recorded. Opening act Flint Eastwood was also mesmerizing - she has the rare ability to both scare you and make you fall in love with her uninhibited enthusiasm.

    great experience

I bought a meet and greet package for my daughter who is a huge fan of PVris. I also accompanied her to the venue from out of town, The lines were well organized, and check in was fast. My daughter loved the experience of meeting her idols, talking to them, getting autographs, and doing a photo op. She was able to give them a handmade gift, and they were very appreciative of the time spent and gesture. the concert itself sounded great, the set list was varied and lead singer Lynn has an amazing voice.
