Better than all the rest. No, but seriously: what a surreal experience. For the fist time in the history of the league, two PWHL team played eachother at Centre Bell. I've been there for a NHL game before and it was amazing. But let me tell you why this time it was different:
Everyone was emotional, you could see the girls on the ice looking up at us, and smile, you could hear the excitement in the thousands voices chanting for the players from both teams almost indistinguishably (except Poulin, she got the biggest ovation of all, it was beautiful). It was different and very special, because lots of kids were attending, entire hockey schools, with their jerseys and hats all spread across the barn. Lots of women too, showing support and love for this beautiful growing thing that is the PWHL.
It was special, because the Canadiens fill the barn every single week, they have a glorious history and they gained the affection of their supporters over hundred years. But those girls achieved that in less than one year. They filled the biggest arena in North America, set a new, unbeatable record (indoor) and are looking like nothing can stop them now. Long live the PWHL. Looking forward to playoffs.
