    We loved R5!

We attended this concert as a family-the first concert our girls have been to at ages 8 & 10. It was the perfect 1st concert experience!

    Awesome experience!

by Kewlkat1400 on 2014-06-03Canadian Tire center - Ottawa

The R5 concert in general was simply an amazing experience. We arrived at the venue when doors opened, and got seated with snacks right away. Brandon and Savannah were alright, their singing was good but their songs are unheard of. Most people left to go get snacks when they were on. Ryland was awesome! He did a really good job of getting everyone excited and pumped up. Shortly after, R5 came out. They were really awesome! they sang i believe every song from their loud album, and did a few covers as well. Really outstanding performance. I was in row 3, and in the middle of the concert, Riker threw his guitar pic out into the croud and i caught it :) one of my highlights from the show! Riker also pointed at me during 'want u bad'. They really made all their fans feel happy and special. Iw ould 100% reccomend this concert to anyone. I am waiting until they come to Ottawa again!!

My daughter and I thought the show was GREAT! R5 performed all of our favourite songs and some great 'covers' of songs on the radio currently. Great, great show!

    R5 Concert

by Sally4200 on 2014-04-21Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

My daughter and I had a good time at the concert. Lots of Energy on stage. We did enjoy it, except for the loudness. We both found it extremely loud, and I couldn't help but wonder if it had to be "that" loud. The initial reason I was excited to be going to a concert at the Jubilee was the fact that we wouldn't have to deal with such loud volume and that we most probably wouldn't expect to have people standing in their seats in front of us. It was extremely loud for the whole concert and although there weren't anyone standing right in front of us. It was happening all around. I saw lots of disappointed children as well as parents. Now a days they are marketing more and more of these bands and singers via TV shows and radio. Ross is on the Disney channel. Little people watch and listen to this. Then they (the kids) want to come to these live shows. Pretty sure those kids lost some of their hearing at this concert. The artists should be a bit more mindful of this. Be aware of the age group coming to the show. Especially when the artists are talking to the crowd and telling them to dance like they dance at the "club". What??? Where I was sitting we saw a number of parents leaving the show with their children. Again, some of them because they couldn't see a thing as people were standing for the entire show. They venue should provide a separate area for those that want to stand for the whole show. Most people want to sit and enjoy the show. This whole experience will make me think twice before I spend anymore $$$ on live entertainment. If I have to stand for the whole show to see anything, then I will just as soon stay home. These were all very talented young people. However we had a hard time hearing their talent as everything was so loud. Couldn't understand the words to the songs I have memorized on the CD

    R5 rocked the Queen E :)

by barefootbutterfly on 2014-04-21Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

I took my 11 yr old daughter to this concert as she really loves Ross, the lead singer. These kids were amazing! I would be very proud if I was their mother. They are all so talented & they really play the music from their soul. Being a singer myself, I truly appreciated the concert for the music & the stage performance which was really top notch. We had amazing seats being 4 rows back center stage. My fave moment was when Ross looked right at my daughter & she couldn't hold back the tears! It brought back all the teen memories of my fave rock stars & the crushes I had, lol :) She had an absolutely awesome time. The venue was great for this type of concert & the security was great to keeping a watchful eye without being too overbearing.

    R5 Really surprised

by lovestarwars on 2014-04-21Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

With Disney's backing, I was pretty sure that I was going to see a pretty boy performance with hip hop dancing.... not at all what I got, R5 were awesome to watch they worked the crowd, the stage and they all are really talented performers. This was my daughter's first time at concert, and I know she will always remember this as will I. Great show, really enjoyed myself.

R5 Concert was worth the money......

by hubbyliveinvancouver on 2014-04-20Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

I enjoyed the R5 concert very much. I took my eldest daughter Chanel to see them. She knew most of the songs by heart, not bad for a 8 yrs old. I bought her some blinking sun glasses . The cost of souvenirs is average among other concerts . I had to do my researched before i went to the concert. To see what kind of songs they sang,,,,It's not bad....

R 5 was tremendously talented but it was TOO LOUD

by Anonymous on 2014-04-20Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

When the first band came on stage it was so loud that we immediately talked to one of the ushers as was breaking our eardrums. The woman said there were earplugs for sale downstairs. We immediately went to purchase some and there was a line up. We saw someone we knew downstairs also purchasing earplugs and we found out later that they ended up leaving the concert because it was just too loud. I have personally been to well over 100 concerts in my time from Queen, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie, Led Zeplin, Supertramp, Genesis, Miley Cyrus, Justin Beiber, Madonna, just to name a few and I have NEVER had to purchase earplugs because the sound was breaking my eardrums. It was obvious that the band R 5 was very talented and both my young girls (ages 7 & 11) love them but the sound was just too much for the venue it was in at the Queen E. Maybe if it was in a bigger venue the sound level would have been more appropriate for the building but it was so uncomfortable even with earplugs in.

R5 didn't have the younger concert goers in mind.

by Momonamission on 2014-04-20Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

A rundown on the event: I'm torn in my review because on one hand my daughter enjoyed seeing the group live, but it took waaaaayyyy too long before R5 actually performed. The concert started at 7pm and they didn't take the stage until 8:45pm. I realize that there is usually an opening act, but TWO is over the top and after each one the stage crew had to clear the stage and finally prepare a sound check for R5's set (that's a total of two intermissions). There were a lot of younger kids there that were either sleeping or getting agitated waiting so long for who we all PAID to see. When R5 finally came on, the kids went wild and had a great time, but to sit through two opening sets that included their youngest siblings moment in the spotlight was not what I paid for. R5 performed for just under an hour which was not nearly long enough for being the star act. They didn't perform some of their more popular songs (which was a letdown for the kids) and even though this was a smaller venue, they did not sign any autographs. This was a birthday present for my 9 year old daughter, who was so thrilled to even be in the same room as Ross Lynch, but her mom (me) was terribly disappointed in the whole experience. Also even though this is a concert of sorts, allowing people to stand during the entire performance blocked most of the audience from seeing the group. We were row 10 center and my daughter couldn't see most of the concert due to much taller older teens standing a few rows ahead holding up large poster sized signs. She was in tears at moments not being able to see. Parents had to lift their kids on their shoulders and some were standing on their seats to be able to see the group over the older ones standing. Ushers were more interested in making sure videos weren't being taken than making sure everyone had enjoyable evening. If I had taken a video device, I would have used it. It would have been the only way to see the show (if I were tall enough to hold my hand up over the standing people ahead of us). Signed, Mom on a Mission who was not impressed with the whole experience! Post note: my daughter loved it, but wished she could have seen more of them. :(

by Lolo75 on 2014-04-19Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Loved the concert! Both bands (B+S and R5) put on awesome performances. But the sound quality wasn't that great. Hard to understand them when they talked and sang. It still was a good time though!

WAITED 2 HOURS AFTER CONCERT STARTED TO SEE BAND

by carlacarla on 2014-04-19Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

R5 was great but the amount of time leading up to the event lagged horribly. I did not like waiting. I found myself wanting to leave several times before R5 came on stage due to having to be made sit there and watch 2 other performances ( granted most bands do have an opening band, but this was ridiculously long and then there was a DJ after tha) I paid to see the band R5 and I would have shown up later, 2 hours later, not to have to sit through two other "bands" and two intermissions.!!!!! The concert STARTED at 7 pm but they didn't come on stage until 9 pm.
