A good show.. worth the price!!! It wasn't fully sold out, it would have been nice if they had offered the up graded tickets prior to the event.
Good performance and audio visuals were excellent.
I have seen the Rockettes before and the show at the ACC was not as memorable. The sound was weak and the show was not as complete as previous shows. One shortcoming that was noticeable was the lack of animals in the last act. Our kids were all "hyped" waiting to see the camels, sheep and goats and then they were let down when none appeared. Maybe if we had never seen the show before we would have been more impressed.
- same routine with different costumes - thought the singers did a good job
GREAT, JOY TO WATCH A NEW YORK CLASSIC, WITH EXCELLENT STAGE PERFORMANCE WOULD DEFINITELY SEE IT AGAIN
The Radio city Rocketts were amazing! Top notch dancers and singers, this was my second trip to see them! The show was almost identical, and I would not have wanted them to change a thing!! I look forward to seeing them next time.
I have seen the Radio City Xmas Spectacular at the Sony Centre and loved it. The show itself was very good but I could not enjoy it in the spacey cavernous atmosphere of the Air Canada Centre. I attended the early show and the place was quite empty, ie lacking audience. The young woman beside me was so busy texting every 5 minutes I wonder who bought her ticket at $100. By the time I moved to another seat there was only 5 minutes left. No intermission and not quite 90 minutes. The whole warm cosy feeling was missing.
This is the second time I have seen the show. First time was at the Humminbird Centre (Sony Centre, formerly the O'Keefe Centre a few years ago) and I was a little concerned about the intimacy (the potential lack of it) of the ACC, but once seeing the show there, I was very impressed! It was even better than the first time I attended (and my thought at that time was that it was one of the best shows I have ever seen!)......the Rockettes are amazing and versatile, the other singers and dancers top notch.........and of course, let's not forget Santa! I would go again and again.......and will one day see the show at Radio City itself. Do yourself a favour and take the whole family........I love this show......a great holiday experience!
An excellent reciprocal of faith and fun, predisposed to young and old alike. While remaining ecumenical, the Rockettes were resplendently articulated with lights, effects, music; singing, digital displays, costumes, and excellently placed and utilized props. Though at times I felt Santa was long overrated, the redeeming grace came in the form of a child, proclaimed in joy my the Sheppard’s, the birth of Christ the King.
The show was great! I went with my 7 year old daughter and she couldn't get enough of it. At the end, she was sad to have the show finish. The background screen was great because it made you feel like the action was moving in 3D. Great special effects! The only negetive thing abour the show were our seats. We sat in Section 109. This was a problem because it was directly on the side of the stage. The ushers even realized this and began moving people over to the next section so that we would have a better view. Considering we paid the most expensive ticket price, I was disappointed in the seats. The show thought was fabulous!
The Radio City Christmas Spectacular was a dream of mine for a long time, longer than I care to admit. Seeing the world famous Rockettes in film and television cannot possibly give you an idea what it will be like to see them in person. This was our second time, we saw the Christmas Spectacular in 2006 at the Hummingbird Centre, and frankly, the emotions were not lessened at this, our second time. We were so emotional when the Rockettes came on stage both times, it's something to see such incredibly talented people. No matter singers, dancers, athletes, it's awe inspiring to see, up close and in person the precision, beauty, strength and dedication talented human beings are capable of. The show changes year to year, always adding new songs and dances, although the Living Nativity has been a staple, and of course, the big chorus line! The songs and dialogue are touching and full of joy, and we noticed that the audience is made up of every age and background of person imaginable; all the laughing, applause and cheering proof that the appeal of the show is as broad as can be. I would highly recommend this seasonal show for anyone, any age, who likes music, and of course, dancing. There is a reason the Rockettes have been internationally famous and loved since 1932, precision dance is hard to describe, and unforgettable in person.
good show, small and almost dead audience, a tough audience it seemed. Great visuals, great use of video, sound seemed way bigger than what those on-stage could have produced. Worth seeing, lots of seats available.
I want to congratulate the whole cast, Air Canada Centre, the ushers, the customs designer, everything was absolutly divine. I brought my grandchildren and my daughter-in-law and they loved it, specially it was amazing watching my grandchildren's faces and expressions, they talked about it all the way home. It is so refreshing and heart-warming to see such a wonderful show and see that Christmas is not all about commercial things, it is what it really is, all about, family getting together and the birth of Christ! I only was sorry that it was not a sell out, but you know what, the people that didn't come are the loosers. I hope they come back next year or the following, I would come again and again! Thank you for all you do and all the hard work! congratulations on an excellent show!
We were looking forward to seeing the Nativity Scene expecting it to be the same as the show we saw at the Sony Centre in 2006. We were disappointed that the scene had been shortened and that there were no real animals used. The Air Canada Centre is too large a venue for this show. It was much better in a theatre setting like the Sony Centre. The show was much shorter than the original show.
The Rockettes were amazing, and the show was very enjoyable. It ws so entertaining that the hour and a half passed by super quick. If you missed it this year, definitely see it in 2010. The synchronized kick line is always the best part of the show, but the bus ride through NYC was really well done. Highly recommended!!
This show is a must see. The production is top class and it will leave you feeling happy and excited about Christmas! There were 3 generations of us there and all around us the crowd included babies to great-grandparents! This will definitely become an annual tradition for our family.
This show was super! My children (ages 9, 6) thoroughly enjoyed it. I would recommend it for any age. The costumes and the set were beautiful. The dancing was awesome. We really liked the fact that not only did the show focus around all the modern hoop-la of Christmas but it took the time to take us back to the true meaning and origin of Christmas...an important reminder for all children and adults alike! I would take my family again.
Always a great show with amazing talent however Sony Centre was the better venue.
It was a great event. It could have been better if we didn't have to deal with all the seniors attending the event. I was expecting the Rockettes to wear the original customes (red&white), that is Christmas to me. But it was great. This is the second time I have watched it. To me between the Santa Claus Parade & the Rockettes, they launch the Christmas season and to me that is a happy time.
