by PKBANDCO on 2013-03-29Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoI attended the performance of Rock of ages with my two grandsons ages sixteen and fourteen. Although content was a little too adult for the fourteen year old in my oppinion, overall it was a great performance and such fun to witness. Both my grandsons enjoyed the show extremelly and the sixteen year old was siging along with the songs from the eighties. The cast aside from the leading lady was remarkable and tallented in every way. The humour was great and the energy of the cast in their last performance in Toronto was remarkable. I suggest parent/grandparents take their older teens to see this show and give them a taste of music in the eighties.
Rating: 3 out of 5 a forgettable performance, sadly
by teedz on 2013-03-27Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoI had seen the show before, twice, when it was in Toronto for its extended run. It was FANTASTIC! I was expecting the same but I was disappointed. The theatre was too big for this show. The audience didn't participate like they did at the other show. The characters just weren't the same and I was left with a let down feeling. It was a fun day out with friends and they enjoyed it but I guess my expectations were higher.

by Anonymous on 2013-03-26Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoFar too many stupid crude jokes. Don't have to be crude to be funny. Took away from whole production. Too bad. And I'm not a fuddy duddy. Certainly not appropriate for kids.

Rating: 5 out of 5 Hilarious and Entertaining
by Apoc on 2013-03-26Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoThis was the second time I saw it, but the first for my girlfriend. She loved it. She thought it was hilarious and the singing was fantastic. I thought the same. I'd definitely see it again because I loved it that much. What a great show. The only thing I hated were the seats, I'm a big guy and had to get up and stand to watch the show because I was getting cramping in my leg muscles. There needs to be more accessible seating in the venue.
Rating: 3 out of 5 Rock of Ages - Touring
by hazyone101 on 2013-03-26Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoThis is my fifth time seeing Rock of Ages, and my first time seeing the touring show. Overall, it is a really good show and the audience gave it roaring applause at the end. Perhaps I am a bit spoiled by the Toronto Mirvish productions whose actors had incredible stage presence and unbelievable voices, but I found some of the leads to be a bit weak in that area and Stacee Jaxx was not the real scene stealer I had hoped him to be, but overall, it was very good.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Rock of Ages totally rocks!!!!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 Fantastic show!!! Awesome music and hilarious!!!
by Darkeraine on 2013-03-26Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoThis show was surprisingly funny!!!! I knew I was going to see a performance of some sort set to the music of the 80's. What I didn't know is how hilarious the narrating would be! At first the narrator came out and made a few comments and I didn't really understand the importance of his role......then not long after, he completely grew on me and I found he is what MADE the entire perfromance!!!.....VERY FUNNY!!!!....Loved every moment of it from start to finish. The show was very INTERACTIVE and didn't feel like you were there just passively observing a play but actually a part of it. We had 2nd row, centre which was AWESOME!!!!.........Would highly recommend it! ~ :)

by Domied on 2013-03-26Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoOther then some issues with the sound (mics got scratchy at times), it was a great performance. Would have also like to receive a program outling the scenes and the roles the actors were performing.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Amazing!
by AmandaL14 on 2013-03-26Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoI loved it... great music, choreography, storyline. I would recommend it, especially for any fan of 80s music! Funny too... the whole audience jumped to their feet at the end of the performance. One of the most enthusiastic standing ovations I've ever seen, and it was well-deserved!
Rating: 5 out of 5by Smiley1234567890 on 2013-03-26Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto It was a jaw dropping performance. This is the 2nd time to see this show. Rating: 2 out of 5 Rock of Ages was a Disappointment
by JD476 on 2013-03-26Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoWas expecting a far more polished performance. I understand the show was the "travelling" version, and as such there are limitations to the set, but the whole thing seemed like an over the top high school production. Also, there was an awful lot of "gratuitous" sexual innuendos, that just were not necessary nor part of the plot. They were simply put in to get a cheap laugh. Even my older teenagers commented on it.

by joejonaslovercan on 2013-03-25Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - TorontoGreat show! Third time see Rock of Ages and I would go over and over again if I could afford it. I grew up in the 80's so it is my type of music and I love live theatre. Have to say nothing can top seeing it on Broadway in NYC.
