About

Roger Waters found international fame as a founding member of legendary progressive rock band Pink Floyd. Selling over 250 million albums worldwide and being inducted into both the British and American Rock & Roll Halls Of Fame, Pink Floyd is one of the most influential bands of the 20th century. Roger Walters has also had tremendous success as a solo artist, releasing three studio albums and touring extensively all across the globe.
Roger was the creative force behind the prime years of Pink Floyd's impressive run. From the classic album The Dark Side Of The Moon in 1968 until Final Cut in 1983, Walters was responsible for the lyrics, arrangement and concept behind every album they released. By the time he left the band in 1985 they had been firmly established as one of the most critically acclaimed and best selling bands in popular music history. Albums such as The Dark Side Of The Moon and The Wall are some of the best selling albums of all time and still sell literally thousands of copies every year to this day.
After leaving Pink Floyd he moved into solo projects with albums such as Radio K.A.O.S and Amused To Death, once again concept albums in his unique style. In 1990 just after the fall of the Berlin Wall, he staged his most elaborate concert ever with a giant outdoor performance in Berlin where the Wall once stood. Featuring guest performances from the likes of Bryan Adams, Joni Mitchell and Cyndi Lauper, the concert registered an official attendance of over 200,000 people. The official live album, titled The Wall - Live, was released shortly afterwards and quickly went Platinum. This period of his career also saw Roger collaborate with artists such as Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck on various projects.
After taking a seven year break from both public eyes and the music industry, Roger returned with a bang in 1999 with a tour that started small and quickly grew. With more modest venues quickly selling out, more dates and larger venues were quickly added as the return tour expanded worldwide. For over three years Roger toured the world, culminating with a performance in front of over 70,000 at Glastonbury Festival in 2002. In 2005 Pink Floyd played together for one last time at charity event Live 8. Roger has continued his solo tours on and off since then, often performing special arrangements of Pink Floyd material mixed with his solo work.

    Awesomeness

by Robin on 2022-07-12Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

I brought my 9 year old Son last night, our first Concert together, my Son was listening to you in the womb, when he was a toddler and crying all I had to do was play your music and he would automatically stop crying! “WE WILL TEACH HIM WELL!” Chi-Miigwetch/Thank you

Bought my tickets 2 years ago. Was a great concert for me.

by Roger Waters/Pink Floyd fan on 2022-07-12Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Great concert. He was the political, opinionated Roger Waters as expected, and Roger Waters at 78 seemed genuinely appreciative to be performing in Toronto. 2 years ago this was a west end stage concert, so the centre ice round was different. I found that the quartered screen was a bit distorted to view, at times. I wish they had shown the faces of the performers. They tended to just show the guitar playing. I think it might have been better with a rotating centre stage, with the screen elevated higher.

    Submerged into another world

by AliasOfDave on 2022-07-12Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

The second you step into the area the stage and screen leaves you with an “Oh wow” feeling that never goes away for about 48 hours. When the songs that are mostly without words happen, there are stories and messages to be read on the screens. There is constant stimulation of your mind and heart. I found myself mesmerized for the full 3 hours, cycling my attention from screen to screen to band and back. Easily the greatest show I have seen.

    Waters political concert

by Rob on 2022-07-12Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

80% excellent. Did not know it was a political concert. Excellent music and guitar playing. Ended on a poor note. Thought it would end with an awesome music performance. It did not. Two slow political songs instead. Would I recommend to a Pink Floyd person, no.

    Audio visual masterpiece

by Terry M on 2022-07-12Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

The genius behind Pink Floyd delivered a mind blowing experience to stimulate and entertain. Strong message about human rights and the tour serves as a wake up call to our present condition.

Good but static show and poor sound quality

by Dennis on 2022-07-12Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

After seeing several shows of Roger Waters over the years, his shows become more and more static. The band is hardly moving. They try to compensate for it by using a lot of light effects. Which is nice but also a little disappointing. The version of The Wall, where they actually build a wall, was still the best of Roger Waters. My main complaints are these: 1. In section 111 at row 9 we couldn’t hear what Roger was saying between songs because of the echo in the arena. He was also rambling a lot which made it worse. 2. Two beers cost 30 CAD! And just for a regular cup size. This is just a WTF. I would not recommend seeing this show. In stead, grab one of his younger shows and enjoyed that at home after buying a lot more beers for the 30 CAD.

    Waited 35 yrs…to be disappointed

by Disappointed on 2022-07-12Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

I have been a huge fan of Pink Floyd and of Rogers contributions to PF. If felt connected for over 35 years. Pink Floyd’s music was instrumental in carrying me through tumultuous teen years, through the hardships of leaving home early, and has been a big part of the soundtrack of my life ever since. My wife and I attended Pink Floyd (sans Waters) concert in 1994. This was huge to me, but I’ve wanted to see Roger ever since, to complete the PF experience. So here comes Waters latest concert. I wait through major delay and finally we attend July 9, 2022. Roger himself sounded amazing, who would know he was almost 80? Performed like he was 50. Stage set was amazing. Backup band sounded great, although not having Gilmour on PF songs is noticeable the guitarist(s) did decent. So what was the diassapointment?

    Dissapointed

by Jordan on 2022-07-12Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Very underwhelming compared to the us+them tour. Played a lot of newer songs to the point I pulled out my phone and stopped watching.

    Great music, voice is fading

by Nails on 2022-07-12Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

As always great musicians, love the lyrics! Roger’s voice is fading, not as clear as in past performances. Still loved the stage, lighting and the songs.

    Not for me anymore!

by Rchoyle on 2022-07-12Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

I have seen Roger Waters in the past several times, my favorite time being the tour he did where he played the entire “Wall” album and I was looking forward to this show. But I was disappointed with this show for a couple reasons. I knew he was political but this time was just too much for me. The entire show had his political views and I didn’t care for it now his actual views on certain people, in particular he hailed Julian Assage as a hero when in fact he’s scum! Aside from that, I thought he did a lot of songs that I didn’t even recognize or they were the least popular if his entire body of work over the decades! When an artist has a body of work like no other and they choose not to play those amazing songs, I get dissatisfied and that’s what happened with this show. Roger Waters and I will be parting ways from here on if he ever comes back to my city. Thank you but no thanks!

    Political Infomercial

by Doug on 2022-07-12Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Roger Waters is one the greatest creative forces in Rock history, and was a major contributor to the greatness of Pink Floyd. To see him overtly launch a concert series rife with adolescent political musings is very disappointing. It is disrespectful to his former band mates, it is disrespectful to his audience and most importantly, it cheapens Pink Floyd's music. Yes Roger can do or say anything and I will still love the music he created decades ago, but by trying to transition his philosophical world view that helped make that music so great into overt political commentary lacking nuance, he spoils the concert experience for some. That should never happen and it is his own legacy he ultimately diminishes. For those who cheered on his political diatribe, I can assure you that few of them likely understand the complexities that make up the modern world. They just like to rage against something without the expense of investing the time necessary to begin to understand it.

    The Wall not The Bar

by Grecs on 2022-07-12Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Awesome seats. But Roger was playing a new song called The Bar sounded as if it could’ve been from The Wall. So just play something from the Wall. Highs and lows. Too much political and anti-capitalism when T shirts were being sold for $65. So sort of a contradiction. More Pink Floyd. He must be still be bitter at Gilmore.

Amazing production, incredible vision and execution.

by Murf on 2022-07-12Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

We waited over two years and it was worth it. Would go again. A tranformative experience that i was lucky to share with my 16yr old son, who also thought it was amazing. Pre dinner during soundcheck was great as well thanks to Sctotia club.
