Rugby League is Australia’s most entertaining, popular and biggest sport. The National Rugby League runs the world’s premier men's Rugby League competition composed of 17 teams (16 from Australia and one from New Zealand) and the premier women's Rugby League competition, NRLW, composed of 12 teams (11 from Australia and one from New Zealand).

The NRL Telstra Premiership is the most competitive elite sporting competition in the Australia and State of Origin series between New South Wales and Queensland — Australian sport’s greatest rivalry. With a rich history dating back to its creation in 1908, Rugby League telecasts have grown to be the most watched programs on Australian television. The NRL Telstra Premiership attracts about 3 million people to its matches each year, with more than 100 million viewers tuning in to the broadcast.

The NRL made history in March 2024 when it showcased Australia’s biggest sport in the sports and entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas, for the very first time.

The 2026 NRL Telstra Premiership season will kick off on American soil with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs taking on St George Illawarra Dragons, and the Newcastle Knights going head-to-head with the North Queensland Cowboys. The Super League will also be joining the NRL in Vegas for all the fun with Hull KR going up against Leeds Rhinos.
