Everything was great, a perfect start for 2010....
It was an exciting evening, the selection of music, presentation by the conductor, and choreography was very much liked. The Tenor, Soprano and musicians did an outstanding performance. Overall, one of the best shows in a super place, the "Orpheum". I and my wife, she is from Vienna, enjoyed the evening very much.
A wonderful start to any New Year is the 100 (approx) member Vancouver Opera Orchestra playing Viennese music. Add to that two excellent soloists, six scintillating dancers and the recently refurbished Vancouver Orpheum, and you have an unbeatable recipe for the first afternoon of the year! Now the challenge is, how to match that happiness level for the rest of 2010.
Astonishing! Amazing! Unforgetable! Music will save the World!
Anita Lukacs was too verbouse,the ballet was delightful, the conductor's comments were hard to decipher, choice of music was excellent. .
