    Classy as usual!

by Cedre on 2013-03-08RIO Theatre on BROADWAY - Vancouver

Let's just get this straight- Sarah doesn't "do" rock and roll. Having said that, her shows are usually full of fun and excitement as she is a performer in the classic sense of the word. Coming across like a 1920s crooner who's been given lessons in 21st Century melody, Sarah always puts on a great show, often interacting with her audience. It's a real shame that her success hasn't spread more but then again, it would be horrible to see her play some enormous concert where Sarah couldn't get that great interaction with her fans.

Be sure not to miss this concert if you're a Slean fan. It's not even possible to think that she can get any better but this tour is setting a whole new bar; Not only for Sarah but for the music industry in general. It's that good!

Sarah Slean is quite the entertainer

by MichelleB579 on 2013-02-23West End Cultural Centre - Winnipeg

Ian Kelley was the opening act and he was very talented and funny. I loved his voice. Sarah was charming and funny and I absolutely love her voice. Her mini-orchestra made the performance so much more elegant and classy. Her songs are unique - both the new stuff and from "the vault" as she said.

"Oh Ottawa" she was heard to murmur...

by LJfromOTTAWA on 2011-12-07National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

Although it's been 2 weeks since I saw Sarah Slean at the NAC, I have to say the pleasant buzz is still there. I bought her Land & Sea CD (which she was kind enough to sign, after the show) and have been playing it on my drives to and from work. The evening was really magical. The intimate setting of the NAC Studio really was a perfect place - as Sarah said, 'it's like being in someone's living room'. I took a girlfriend and we both enjoyed the energy and the way she can communicate the full range of emotions - love, hate, fear, courage, etc. - in her music. She (and her band) seemed to be having a genuinely good time. When she came out into the lobby, after the show, you could see, up close, how her external beauty matched the extraordinary beauty of her music and added to the magic of the evening!!

Sarah Slean @ The Rio = 2 Hours of Perfection!

by Jenner17 on 2011-11-26RIO Theatre on BROADWAY - Vancouver

Not only is Sarah Slean a powerhouse of a singer, an extraordinary lyricist, a master musician and a raging beauty, she's also one hell of a storyteller. The concert almost felt like sitting around in Sarah's living room surrounded by new friends. Sarah Slean is a natural talent and a wonderful performer. She's on my "must see" list.

ANOTHER great Sarah Slean concert....I have no idea why this performer has not skyrocketed into international success! brought 2 friends with me who had never heard of or seen this Canadian songstress, and they left in total amazement!! We all think the new album is her best work yet!

The event got off to a rough start at the Rio for my party and many others when the separate line-ups for Will Call and General Admission weren't clearly identified or communicated. I waited in a line half a block long for 40 min only to witness the group 2 spots ahead go sour at the news that they (and me, and many others behind me) were in the wrong line up and that we'd have to start again in the other half block long lineup. There were also grumblings in line about a discrepency in what time the show started - 7? or 8? depending on where you looked. Ok, so enough with the complaining. The show was a powerful display of thoughtful lyrics, beautiful female harmony, and a tight group of musicians on the same page. Sarah Slean herself was a charming host and her playful interaction with an enthused audience bathed the intimate gathering in a glow of vibrant fun. As someone not generally drawn to wailing female artists, I'll admit I got goosebumps once or twice and left feeling I got good value for my $40. Sarah Slean is an under appreciated Canadian talent and I would recommend anyone check her out live if they get a chance. The new album is also well crafted.

Sarah Slean was an evening of exquisite music

by brilton on 2011-11-26RIO Theatre on BROADWAY - Vancouver

Sarah Slean offered a very personal and intimate evening of music. She set the scene for each of her songs bringing out the imagery and magic of her music. Her commentary and observations showed she had a perspective filled with the emotional intelligence demonstrated in her songs. I would see her again and again if I could. This concert left a mark on me that I will not soon forget. Sarah Slean is a true artist.

Awesome concert as always. Sarah has an amazing voice and entertains with her stories in between songs. I always try to see her when she is in town and the Meyer Horowitz theatre is the perfect intimate venue to experience Sarah.

    Sarah superb

by tommyS on 2011-11-18Myer Horowitz Theatre - Edmonton

Saw Sarah Slean for the third time. She is a wonderful performer and talented artist. Is a real treat to see such a person in a small personal venue. Surprised her career hasn't taken off to a greater market but glad that we can still see her in intimate settings. Great concert and so much more value than bigger name artists with huge venues and ticket prices.

    Powerful and Engaging!

by Anonymous on 2011-11-18Myer Horowitz Theatre - Edmonton

Sarah Slean put on a great show. She sings with great range and emotion. The Myer Horowitz is a great venue for her because it is a relatively intimate setting and lets her engage with her audience, which she does really well.
