    Fantastic Show

by Rockox on 2011-11-14West End Cultural Centre - Winnipeg

Sarah Slean played Winnipeg in support of her new double-album "Land & Sea" and it was a great show. She played most, if not all of the tracks from the new album, plus a few selections from previous albums. Backed by a rock-solid band, including the incredible Karen Kosowski on keyboards, guitar and vocals, the songs sounded terrific. Sarah's quirky, arty stage banter is pretty fun, though the person I was with did admit it got a bit tiring after awhile. My only real complaint is that I had hoped Sarah would've played a few more songs from the "Day One" album, especially personal favourites such as "Lucky Me" and "Vertigo." But that's not the tour she's on, so I get it. All in all, it was a great show. And Karen Kosowski, man. She really puts the polish on these songs. If you're a fan of Sarah Slean, especially her new album, you should get out and see this show.

    Sarah Slean at WECC!

by bigred702 on 2011-11-13West End Cultural Centre - Winnipeg

Fabulous Concert! Sarah Slean never disappoints, especially at the WECC!!! The intimacy with commentary to and from the crowd is truly unique to Sarah Slean and a small venue like the WECC. It is a rare opportunity to see a performer engage the audience as Sarah Slean does!

    Lovely as always

by shibby13 on 2011-11-07Winter Garden Theatre - Toronto

I've seen Sarah several times now and she is always charming, witty and animated. This time was no exception. It's different and wondering seeing her with a band, they were phenomenal by the way. She is an exceptional pianist and really knows how to make everyone in the room marvel at her and her music. She played a nice long set and an encore. Bravo!

Sarah lit up the stage with her wit and musical talent. An upscale theatre, a tight band, and a wonderful setlist made for a special evening. Don't miss her the next time you can see her.

Great concert. I was not familiar with Sarah Slean's music so didn't know quite what to expect and left a fan. Vocals were amazing and she has this great way of connecting to the audience. Songs that you can really relate to.

    Brilliant, beautiful, and bold--Sarah Slean!

by LFly on 2011-11-07Winter Garden Theatre - Toronto

A wonderful and whimsical show, that featured "vintage Slean" moments, and some great introductions to her new music. Took a friend who'd never heard or seen her before, who left both inspired and intrigued. A sensational night out!

    Wow. Just, wow.

by DonOnDanforth on 2011-11-07Winter Garden Theatre - Toronto

The lady can flat out mesmerize. Her voice is note perfect and it soars. So much so that, at times, I cast my gaze to the vaulted ceiling of the Winter Garden Theatre certain that I'd see her vocals trapezing around up there. Some artists are terrific in studio and a bit of a letdown when you see (and more importantly hear) them live. Not Sarah Slean. She needs no production help at all. In fact, she doesn't even need a band (although, they were terrific). If Sarah Slean wanted to play for 3 hours accompanied only by her incredible piano playing, I'd be happy enough. She rips your heart out with a melancholy muse, then pulls you back from the ledge with a rollicking romp. And back and forth it goes. My only complaint : Damn, I wanna hear "Sweet Ones" live!!

    Sweet sounds of Sarah Slean

by ADawg on 2009-11-04Festival Place - Sherwood Park

Art of Time Ensemble featuring Sarah Slean was absolutely unforgettable! It was a show that I didn't want to end although they played for a good 2.5 hours. Even though I went to see Sarah Slean I am now a fan of Art of Time Ensemble to say the least! I now have a definite appreciation for more classical music! They did an outstanding job!
