Seattle Sounders FC History

The Seattle Sounders joined MLS in 2009 and quickly built a Western Conference powerhouse, winning four U.S. Open Cups, one Supporters' Shield (2014), and two MLS Cup Championships in 2016 and 2019.

Jordan Morris was named the 2019 MLS Comeback Player of the Year after recovering from a torn ACL that sidelined him for nearly all of 2018. In 2019, the Sounders earned the No. 2 seed in the MLS Western Conference and qualified for the MLS Cup Playoffs for the 11th straight season. In 2021, the Sounders became the first MLS club to advance to the finals match of the annual North American Leagues Cup tournament, and in 2022, the team won the interleague CONCACAF Champions Cup.

10 yr old did not see the field

by zicocat on 2011-03-17Qwest Field - Seattle

i enjoyed the game and the pregame march. my only problem is that we drove down from canada to see the game my sons ticket was 65 dollars no big deal but he could notsee because the fans were all standing .i could understand if we were in the end zone but we were at the 18 yard box . so i probably would not be able to take my son to another game. it is to bad as we enjoy live sports together as a family. my son watched most of the game on the big screen .

    Wow! What an event!

by Whitecapsfan on 2010-08-10Qwest Field - Seattle

Sounders fans are great. They stood the whole match... Great singing from the fans. If only the soccer was a bit better class it would have been 5 of 5

Sounders soccer is a fun time for all

by Anonymous on 2010-08-09Qwest Field - Seattle

Excellent event. Truly was great. The atmosphere ( closing the top bowl), the fans, the singing and constant chants. We were in a club seat (first row in the second level) and it was great. Now I would imagine that those with young kids in the top part of the first section would not feel the same way as everyone stands for the whole game. I could see but small kids in the top of the center seats would be angry. The march to the match, the crowd itself and the game were all first class. I travelled from Vancouver to watch what it is that makes the MLS in Seattle so successful and the above are alot of why there are more fans going to watch the sounders than the mariners these days.

    A great football experience

by bratuzzi on 2010-07-20Qwest Field - Seattle

What a show! A good football game, particularly in the second half! Sounders played well, but they'll need to run more and to be much faster. OK, it was just a friendly game, but ...

I stayed in Seattle with my cousin and took him to the game and he is not a sports fan. After the game even he said how he enjoyed the match and the fans.

    Fans are passionate

by kiltboy on 2009-08-30Qwest Field - Seattle

Score might have been 0-0, but end to end action. Could have ended up 4-4 & by the end players on both side had a dislike for each other.
