About

SILVERSTEIN IN CONCERT:

Since bursting onto the scene in 2000, Canadian post-hardcore outfit Silverstein has consistently wowed audiences with their energetic, adrenaline-filled concerts. Their setlists pull from all seven of their studio albums and feature longtime favorites "Vices", "Bleeds No More", and "Smile In Your Sleep" alongside recent singles like "Stand Amid The Roar" and "Massachusetts". Frontman Shane Told pours his heart out onstage, alternating between soft melodic croons and thunderous screamo yells. The rest of the band radiates passion, from Paul Koehler's relentless drumming to bassist Billy Hamilton's guttural growling. Silverstein’s emotionally charged renditions of their aggressive, melodic songs are sure to leave their ravenous fans begging for more.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Silverstein formed in Ontario, Canada in 2000 and released their first EP, Summer's Stellar Gaze, later that year. Since 2001 the five-piece's lineup has consisted of lead singer and keyboardist Shane Told, guitarists Paul Marc Rousseau and Josh Bradford, bassist Billy Hamilton, and drummer Paul Koehler. In 2002 the band penned a deal with Victory Records and released their debut album, When Broke Is Easily Fixed, the following year. Their sophomore release, 2005's Discovering The Waterfront, introduced faster punk rock influences and cracked the Top 40 on the Billboard 200 chart. Over the next decade they released five more studio albums, including 2013's This Is How The Wind Shifts. Silverstein excels in live performance and is known for their extensive touring -- they've played in more than 40 countries alongside bands like Rise Against, Hawthorne Heights, The Devil Wears Prada, Blessthefall, and A Day To Remember. In 2014 they announced plans for a world tour to mark the 10th anniversary of Discovering The Waterfront, as well as a brand new studio album, I Am Alive In Everything I Touch.

    Absolutely electric!

by Tessa on 2021-12-15History - Toronto

The show was amazing, from start to finish the sound was great and the vibe was electric. Can’t say enough good things about the History venue, not waiting a hour for a drink / bathroom was a real treat.

    Phenomenal Experience!

by Rebel Love Reviews on 2021-12-15History - Toronto

I will start by saying that History is BEAUTIFUL! Shout out to Drake lol. This show was the last on the tour and was completely sold out. The atmosphere was great and the crowd was fun and respectful (from someone who was at the barricades to the left of the crowd surf exit) I was pushed maybe twice. -Can’t Swim- was such a fun band, stood behind a kid that travelled all the way from Halifax just to see them and that is inspiring! I also got to meet their frontman Chris LoPorto after the concert and he is super nice! -The Plot In You- Landon’s stage presence is mesmerizing, stalking around like an animal after prey. I also appreciated the wardrobe upgrade. This is my favourite band and they did not disappoint in the slightest! -Silverstein- Welcome home! They really know how to entertain. I love seeing them every time they are in town. This show was incredibly special.

    Amazing

by Courtney on 2021-12-15History - Toronto

I’ve been listening to Silverstein since I was 14/15. I am now 33 and seeing them on 12th brought me back to young girl. I loved every minute of it. Not to mention the new venue, History, is really nice. The service was amazing. I would see a show there again for sure.

    Silverstein was ABSOLUTELY UNFORGETTABLE

by Wiinterschild on 2016-03-26Howard Theatre - Washington

The show at Howard Theatre was the most lit af show. I loved the strong presence the band had on stage and the amazing response from the crowd. The only thing that kinda peeved me about the show was that I couldn't hear Shane's vocals at all throughout the show because I was standing in from of Paul Marc's guitar amps but I know for sure, whether I hear it or not, that Shane's vocals were beast af. I love seeing Silverstein in concert! It was the highlight of my week!!!!!!

    First time seeing Silverstein

by Hansol on 2015-01-26The Gateway (SAIT) - Calgary

I've listened to them since 2006 when I was in middle school and loved them. They were my favorite band for the longest time. I slowly started drifting away from listening to the band from the release of rescue so I kind of lost interest in them. Hearing that they were coming to my city a few months back, I thought it would be great to see them in live action for nostalgic reasons; especially since it was the 10th anniversary of 'Discovering The Waterfront'. The concert was intense. The bands that opened up for them did great. I found out about Beartooth summer of last year and listened to them daily during my summer break and loved them. It was a great line up and intense as hell! To my surprise, Silverstein played mostly old school songs with some exceptions. I screamed and sang my heart out for most of the songs and even moshed for a bit as well. I had the time of my life. After the concert was over, my voice was cracking and croaking. I had killed my voice. The next morning I could barely walk and it took forever to walk down stairs. I pretty much went crazy all night and was too sore, haha. Although I don't listen to them much anymore, I would still highly recommend going to see them live!

    Best From The Front

by Oddjob on 2009-09-30Sound Academy - Toronto

This show was amazing! Especially seeing my friends in I Am Commiting A Sin play such a great show. If you have never heard of them go check them out on facebook or myspace! I'm not a huge fan of ADTR but they put on a good show live! I was really surprised how good Ten Second Epic was live, I heard they werent that good! BUT OMG AMAZING! Silverstein, of course, was bomb! Me and My best friend stuck out the whole show in the front row in the centre, getting hit and bruised up from crowd surfers, but in our opinion it was so worth it!

    Great.

by silversteinfan on 2009-09-26Sound Academy - Toronto

Great great show. I missed I Am Committing a Sin due to stupid Toronto traffic, but I met them afterwards and bought a cd from them. Ten Second Epic was good. It seemed that they got tired easily though. A Day to Remember was fantastic live but of course, Silverstein stole the show being amazing as always. Rob Dyer came on stage before A Day to Remember played and talked a bit about Skate4Cancer. After the show, the band just hung around the venue and the booths. It was really easy to meet anyone you wanted to.
