My first time going. And I LOVED IT!!! Definitely going back!!!
Sjs never disappoints.its always a fun time .quite honestly it the only time i go downtown any more ..love Sjs and the sjs fam ..
Made us move down from our table in the Commodore Ballroom. it was new years and it was still barely past midnight
SJS is always a good time filled with nostalgic 90s and early 2000s hip hop and R&B. However, this particular event (Labor day long weekend), there was an inexplicably long line up to get in, especially for a ticketed event. Not Ticketmaster's fault by any means, but this was the only downer of the night.
I've been to 20+ SJS events and this one was on par with the energy and amazing set lists that we have come to expect but I'd have to say the commodore fell short on this one. We were in line for over an hour without much movement. Every other show I've seen at the venue, the line is in constant movement. It was very annoying that we had paid for tickets and had them in our hands but spent an hour of the event stuck in the line. The other disappointment was the sound quality, when we were in the middle to back of the dance floor, we could barely hear what song was playing. The quality was very hollow sounding and not loud enough. Definitely not the best SJS but definitely add a result of the commodore's issues.
The DJ didn’t transition properly. Made it unenjoyable. The sound was off. More base than music. Lots of old old school in the beginning that wasn’t popular hits. I suggest doing popular hits and loop it at the end so that we get to dance. Took a couple of hours before there was music you can actually dance to.
the dj, the venue, the songs were SO GOOD!! loved it
Every single thing, from the venue to the DJ's were phenomenal. I dance and sang all night long. The bartenders were attentive and humorous. This is hands down the best Vancouver has! Slow jams and r&b bangers that brought me back to 1999. Love it!
Slightly disappointed in the music as it wasn’t purely SJS music as it is usually but a combination of hip hop and pop as well.
Brought it all back, bangin’ good times were had. Lost my voice from the impromptu karaoke marathon, and couldn’t walk down stairs without feeling it ‘cause I truly felt like droppin’ like it was hawt was a good idea, no regrets.
