While I thought it would be somewhat less of an experience seeing Snow Patrol in anything less than a stadium, they still managed to energize the ENTIRE audience and get us very involved with their performance. I saw them last at Ricoh, which was definitely awesome, but Massey Hall made the experience so much more intimate. Their sound setup definitely did not lack for punch. You could tell it was designed for larger venues, but toned down a tad. Overall kickass set. Lots of oldies, with newer material spread around. Even though Massey Hall was a seated event, and Snow Patrol has soft/soothing material, they got everyone out of their seats and rocked it hard.
Always great when the lead singer jumps into the audience and starts hugging and hanging out and taking pictures with folks while singing, which he did.
One thing that confused the heck out of my girlfriend and I was that it seemed the "Ed Sheeran" fan club showed up and almost blew our eardrums from the audience screaming for the opening act. I had barely ever heard of this guy and these girls seemed to be having a teenage heart-throb moment over him. Apparently he's a small sensation on iTunes. He was a good singer, don't get me wrong, but people were seriously having mental breakdowns over him performing. Also, I was VERY disappointed in some of the girls who LEFT before Snow Patrol even finished their set or did their encore...(because they only cared about Ed Sheeran)...seriously.
