SONU NIGAM IN CONCERT:

As one of India's most revered playback singers, Sonu Nigam is responsible for the pitch-perfect vocals lip synced by numerous Bollywood superstars over the years. His talents aren't just confined to behind-the-scenes roles, however -- an electrifying dancer and performer, Nigam has also had an eminent career as a solo artist, boasting more than two decades of beloved recordings. Hot off the heels of a successful 2013 collaboration with superproducer David Guetta, Nigam is set to dazzle on his 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Indian-born Sonu Nigam began performing at parties and weddings with his father at age three. At age 19, the two moved to Mumbai to launch the young Nigam's Bollywood career, which began with roles as a playback singer and a commercial voice actor. In 1995, Nigam became the host of Sa Re Ga Ma, a popular televised singing competition akin to American Idol. His breakout as a solo artist came just a few years later with the 1999 release of Deewana, a collection of romantic songs that remains one of India's top-selling albums. Over his decade-spanning career, Nigam has released more than 25 albums while continuing to tour to adoring fans around the world.

    Sonu is the BOSS

by desiboy on 2017-08-11Air Canada Centre - Toronto

First off, they were late in starting the show. Then Atif being a "Besura" was lame and boring with not even a smile on his face. He totally looked drunk or tired. I hated the fact that he only greeted ppl with "aslam-walekum", while Sonu (THE BOSS) respected everyone and greeted all cultures. That makes a huge difference. Please dont invite Atif with rockstar Sonu. Sonu was amazing, his performance was LIT. I didnt like how the camera screens were so small and the sound wasnt clear enough. Expensive tickets for those 2 reasons. Sonu, please come back soon. Thanks!

    Klose to you was amazing

by sopmun on 2017-08-10Air Canada Centre - Toronto

The organizers should have treated both singers equally. It is sad to see how they differentiated them. They did background slide show and clouds for Sonu Nigam but not for Atif aslam. Even now the top of this survey has the picture of Sonu Nigam. Where is Atif Aslams picture. If you can not respect the singers equally then should do concert individually.

It was a great show put on by both... Have been to individual concerts for both which were probably better but the scale of this one was pretty awesome...

Poor Sound and Just 2 screens

by crimemastergogo on 2017-08-09Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Only ground level can listen voice and see 2 screens. For such a big show there were only 2 screens and not visible enough for more than 70% of audiences, same goes with speakers...no arrangement of speakers for upper level...voice of Sonu and Aatif was for people who spent highest money on the ground level, why did you charge money from others?

    Air Canada centre

by Joginder on 2017-08-09Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Sound system was so poor at level 2&3. It was worst experience. I could not hear anything. The people were moving around and stood in front of us. The railing of steps was obstructing the stage. I will never recommend these seats

Atif Aslam totally rocked the show. Wasn't too impressed with Sonu Nigham - I've been to his concert before and that was amazing.

    Sonu Nigam Live Musical

by Sukum on 2017-08-08Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Sonu Nigam was magical. He rendered some of his best songs with high dose of energy. Atif Aslam was okay okay with his regular dose of sad songs with nasal tone. Sonu Nigam lived upto his reputation as immensely talented and soulful singer. The only complaint I have with Air Canada Center - they have tiny TVs (I have bigger one at home) and makes it impossible to get a good closeup of artists when seated far away.

Atif & Sonu were really good

by Saqib on 2017-08-08Air Canada Centre - Toronto

The performances by both were really, truly good. Amazing music, good selection of songs. The only negative: they both performed together only for 4 songs of a few minutes - it should have been longer.

Atif and Sonu - Amazing! The Orchestra - Awful

by Imli on 2017-08-08Air Canada Centre - Toronto

Atif Aslam and Sonu Nigam are outstanding singers. Unfortunately the Orchestra seemed to overpower their voices, especially the techno-drum beating. I was sitting very high up but we could hear both singers properly when the drum and all major boom-boom stopped. The Techno beats after a particularly high note would reverberate and sound like a mess. Atif sang a song with only the guitar playing and that was wonderful. Sonu would quieten the Orchestra and it would be fine. But when the Orchestra tried to catch the momentum, they would drown out both singers. I have been to Hershey's Centre in Mississauga for Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik and sat pretty much in the same spot there. There was NO such problem. You could hear both singers clearly and the Orchestra enhanced the performance instead of drowning it. Although Kumar Sanu had mentioned that it was the original Orchestra that played those songs in Hindi movies.

    Did Not Meet My Expectations

by SonuFanHonestReview on 2017-08-08Air Canada Centre - Toronto

The sound quality wasn't the greatest, honestly Atif is not the greatest of singers when it comes to performing live! Sonu Nigam was amazing but too less of him! Not worthy of time and money!

    Sonu's voice has no limit

by prasad on 2014-05-28Pacific Coliseum - Vancouver

Sonu Nigam is able to make any song his own on stage whether it is a classic from the 1960's or one of his newer songs. The symphony orchestra makes the experience memorable and special, and Jonita Gandhi the female singer is amazing in her own right. Theyre all very professional. From classical indian music to fast dance tracks they manage to give everyone something to enjoy. He always finds a way to surprise fans of indian music with the setlist. I could listen to him sing anything, and thats exactly what he does for 3-4 hours, pour his heart and soul out to you through his voice.
