  • Stacey Kent was very good and so charming.

Very good concert and you could feel the authenticity of Stacey Kent during the show. Her voice is soft, delicate and on key. She has shown that a female singer dosen't have to scream her heart out to be impressive. On top of everything, her French is close to perfect and she didn't just say Hi and goodbye. She spoke full sentences in a great French which showed her respect for the Montreal crowd.

  • Unsurprisingly, Stacey Kent was worth the wait!

For a long time...a very long time...southern-Ontario jazz vocal fans have been wishing that Anglo-American jazz chanteuse Stacey Kent would perform locally. I'd been looking for something for my musician (and Stacey fan) brother's birthday; heard about the upcoming Stacey date at the Danforth Music Hall on JazzFM, and that was the instant choice of present. Being a musician my brother's difficult to get free but I made sure he was keeping March 4 open and got tickets pronto. And Stacey and her backing quartet sure didn't disappoint. Stacey's touring her orchestrally-backed CD "I Know I Dream" currently, but also performed a nice selection of earlier material, including my brother's favourite "Ice Hotel" and two of my own favourite standards, "Smile" and, as a heavenly encore after a "standing O", Hoagy Carmichael's "Stardust" complete with intro verse. What a lovely evening. Hope Stacey returns sooner than later...which we got to say to her at the post-concert meet-and-greet!

Great shows, good musicians for both bands. Good ratio vs price paid. Stacey Kent talked a little too much. but still, it was a good show
