I've bought the cd's and loved the man thru his music but this was our first time going to see him and I had my concerns. I'd heard that he could be difficult and eccentric so we were prepared to be a little dissapointed. But nothing could be further from the truth. What we experienced was a love- fest of adoring fans from 20 to 70. Just Steve and a guitar and harmonica captured and raptured the audience for 2 hours with songs from his new album (Townes) and a great assortment from his impressive collection. He was charming, funny, humble and appreciative of the loyal fans singing along and calling out "we love you Steve O" I hadn't been to the "Grand Old Dame" Massey Hall for years and I had forgotton how initmate and audience friendly it was. It was a great night and I look forward to next year.

What a great performer, he was unplugged, solo and rocked. A great storyteller, quite humourous and was truly appreciative of the audience being there, as he said "in these difficult times". Fantastic venue to see him at, accoustics were amazing, his voice was right on and his performance was excellent.

a first I wondered how one man could pull off entertaining a house full of people with out a band, I was more the amazed and suprised at his power and vocal ability at doing this. then again I was disappointed that he did not play more of his favorites that I listened too over the years and thought i would get .but I put that aside and decided to give him a chance and again he blew me away with the townes songs I am now my way to down load them from itunes now, well done steve!

What a great concert. Steve had total command of his guitars , harmonica, playlist, and for that matter also the audience. We had seats in the front row in front of the speakers, and this was a bonus since we heard every note and strummed chords clearly and not loud.Standing ovations were many, and totally deserving.I have been a fan since the late seventies and still love his music , lyrycs' style and sincerity of his delivery. Congratulations to making a few Torontonians have two full hours of enjoyment and entertainment from a TRUE ARTIST.

  • Steve Earle, the legend?

Did not know much about Steve Earle but after reading his "story", I thought he might be worth a couple of hours of my time. Was I right. Steve Earle gave a wonderful performance and his set was well balanced and kept you entertained to the very end. This was a great tribute show to Townes Van Zandt's work (Earle's new recordings) and a great display of his own talent. And his encore finale "Copperhead Road", well that capped the evening off quite nicely, thank you. If he comes to your area, don't miss him.
