    Hardest working musicians!

by boddi on 2011-09-01Lindsay Academy Theatre - Lindsay

The venue was good, sound was very good, the musicians rocked. The older Steve gets, the harder he works. I felt appreciative of all they put into it. And Allison Moorer was part of why we went. She's getting attention for being "Steve's wife", but she's an incredible, incredible singer. Loved how the whole band was showcased.

    Steve Earle was pure music

by flygirl1017 on 2011-07-09Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Not much chatter, no smoke or props.....just pure music, beautiful music. The talent and diversity of the dukes and duchesses was outstanding. The Mathesons' were awesome, Allison Moore fabulous. Such talent created pure pure music. They had enough instruments to outfit an orchestra!

Good ol' boy still got it!

by Farmerstan on 2011-06-30Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I say the good ol' boy has still got it , he played and sang his ass off! Earle and his band were on time, sounded great and seemed to enjoy themselves which rubbed off on the crowd. He mixed his old school country and rock songs with his newer folk and bluegrass which was cool. Lead guitarist Masterson was money in the bank ! Would have been nice if Moorer could have played a few more of her songs, she has got a great voice, and is very underated.

    Alison Moorer stole the show

by gringo on 2011-06-28Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

The sound was horrible. Steve's lyrices need to be heard. The music overtook the vocals and I believe there was some interesting harmonies, as all vocalists had some great pipes. Allison's three songs could have been so much better, had the soundman been paying attention. She has a fantastic voice and deserves better sound.

    Steve Earle-Dukes and Duchesses-Pure Talent!

by Kuyaba on 2011-06-28Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Very amazed at the versatility of all the players. Many instrument changes, and a wonderful journey through Earles' music repertoire. We had a great time, and they played three encores. The only downside, is the sound. I have been too this venue before, and the sound has been lacking in quality each time. Overall tho, excellent show!

    Great performance, bad sound

by TwistedBluesteel on 2011-06-27Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Outstanding musicians, great songs from all through the Earle catalog ... but couldn't make out the lyrics (even though I know most of them): the band swamped out Steve's voice.

    Best Steve Earle I've seen!

by allmusiclover on 2011-06-27Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Steve has a way with words like few others in roots music today....so many people only remember Copperhead Road. He has done so much since then and has been virtually overlooked by commercial radio. In one word, he is diverse. When was the last time you heard celtic, rock, country all at one show? He also gave his amazing band a chance to show their stuff - he is a true artist.......

    Steve earle was great!!!

by silver on 2011-06-27Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I have seen Steve Earle several times and this was one of the best. I was blown away at how good Allison Moorer sang. The band was great - he had his bass player from the Dukes with him - I loved it!

Steve Earle didn't short us on quantity.....he sang MANY songs. But we were very dissapointed that he didn't do any acoustic stuff....it was all very loud and the instruments overpowered his voice, which I love. Why do these guys think they need to BLAST us out of the Jube??

Steve Earle & the Dukes & Duchesses

by princesslayla on 2011-06-27Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

This was a very good concert. Amazing amount of talent throughout the band and I loved how Steve allowed them all to perform & display this individually . My only con was the sound quality for some of Steve's songs was not there , you just could not understand what he was singing - the band overpowered his vocals . He sounded great on the acoustic songs though. Overall a decent concert , enjoyed it very much.

    Steve is aging well

by pontiac on 2011-06-27Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Great show. Have seen him 4 times live and this may have been his best. If you came to "chat" with Steve, this wasn't your night but if you were there to hear some great music you were in the right place! Well done. really enjoyed Allison Moorer's work too. Great night!

    Steve Earle Is A Master

by betterworkplace on 2011-06-27Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

Just under three hours for a concert? Who plays like that anymore? Good for Steve Earle and Allison Moorer for bringing such a great show to the Southern Alberta Jubilee. Unfortunately, the balcony was nearly empty which begs the question, where was the marketing team on this one? Steve Earle is a talented songwriter employing an incredibly tight band and is a hell of a storyteller. The hits might not be as often as his early days, but the music is better and more meaningful. His ability to jump from one genre to another is probably the reason he enjoys limited radio airplay but who listens to commercial radio anymore anyway? Was glad I took in this concert. Will remember this night for a lifetime. Thank you Steve for making us think for all these years.

Steve Earle and Alison Moorer were fabulous

by JulieBee on 2011-06-27Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

This was my favourite of all the times I have seen Steve and Alison - I think his second go round of parenthood has settled him very nicely - the whole concert was great to watch and listen to - extremely coordinated and well run - and double encores!!

Steve Earle put on a fantastic show at the Jubilee Auditorium. The songs from his album," I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive" were very well executed as well as classics like Copperhead Road. If he comes to your town you should check it out!

    Steve's Still Got It

by BBail on 2011-06-24Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Steve Earle himself was fantastic -- he's still got the voice! You know it's all about the music when he switches to a new guitar almost every song. I liked how the band was involved too, with Allison Moorer and various Dukes and Duchesses performing while Steve took a break or played along. He was very gracious and asked us to "make welcome" the band members.

    Steve Earle - - - Extraordinary!

by duanemf on 2011-06-24Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Steve and The Dukes and Duchesses performed an excellent set from the catalog of songs amassed over the breadth of Steve’s musical career! Musicality and intelligence marked a 2 ½ hour set that exposed Steve Earle as both a prolific, groundbreaking songwriter and poet backed by Allison Moorer and the band... all of whom were also revealed to be genuine artists in their own right! Steve Earle is the “Beatles” of the 21st Century! Don’t dare miss any opportunity to catch Steve Earle and Allison Moorer and his amazing band!
