From the running of the bulls to the end of the chuck wagon races it was great
A rodeo on a sunny day, is awesome it was packed full of different events along with laughter from the entertainment of the clown and announcer. These cowboys/cowgirls are incredible and very enjoyable to watch.
Strathmore puts on a very "Welcoming" event, the chuckwagon races were great as always. The running with the bulls was a first for us and "Wow" what an expierence.
It was so much more exciting than being at the Calgary Stampede! The whole days events were well done - we enjoyed the horse pull - great job!
Awesome - great fun - and some of the races were so close! The announcer was a riot and everyone had a great time.....the only downside was before the Chucks they did the "running with the bulls"...I didn't care for that event...it seemed that at times the bulls were totally over-whelmed by being surrounded by red shirts.
What was the point in buying tickets online before the show with seat numbers if others are just going to ignore the seating protocol. We purchased our tickets in advance for five people one who needed an aisle seat. When we got to our seats three of them were already occupied and the 'men' in the seats refused to leave them even though they could see our tickets and that one us Was in a foot cast. Others offered sporadic seats further in but this was not feasible seating for a person in a cast. We found some empty seats in a poorer visibility location and thankfully we did not seem to have taken someone else's seats. If you are going to have numbered seating you need to find a way to enforce it.
Awesome rodeo, like the small town rodeos, not so corporate and the fans are more down to earth. Plan on going again next year.
very good entertainment great seats very hot that day
The Strathmore Stampede runs every Aug long weekend and is a 30 minute drive east of Calgary. For a fraction of the price of a ticket to the Calgary Stampede chuckwagons, and a much better (covered) seat, you can watch the same quality entertainment, plus the running of the bulls. Great family evening out without breaking the bank.
