Streetlight is an amazing band that are funny and clever. Good show and nice venue.
Phoenix is a wicked venue for punk, although the divide for the drinking area was a little uneven and made the area in front of the band too small. Streetlight was AMAZING! they always are! The sound cut out for some of it... issues with tech? WAYYYY TOO MANY POT SMOKERS *cough cough* if you don't smoke pot or smoke just makes you sneeze uncontrollably.... security needs to get up on that. One of em even lit up and skanked in the pit... burned a couple of people and then we threw him very far away... Good time slot finished with enough time for us to make the last train back to burlington. The openers were kind of miss matched and i really only enjoyed streetlight but they were sooooo good it made up for the other stuff.
This is the 7th time I've seen Streetlight perform and they never let me down! I wasn't sure what they were going to play with new cd just previously released but the set was awesome. A good mix of new and old plus a few tweaks of songs that were amazing! As usual, I can't wait to see them again!!
Streetlight was fantastic. The first opening band was ok, but nothing in comparison to the others. Outernational, the next band had a great ska feel, although the lead singer's pants were highly distracting. Creepshow was great, energetic and really pumped up the crowd. Finally the sweet god like being of Tomas Kalnoky and Streetlight came out and played a great set. It was PERFECT
This show was pretty awesome. All the preforming Bands had tons of energy with made the show that much better. They looked like they were having fun and it really came through in their sound. I would totally go see anyone from this lineup again in a heart beat. The crowd was pumped and everyone was there to have a good time.
It's not my first time seeing Streetlight Manifesto and this once again reassured me that it won't be my last. As a band I've been listening to for years (and one of the few third-wave ska bands, along with Reel Big Fish), they once again blew me away from the stage. But first I have to throw a kudos to the Creepshow, whom I'd never seen perform live before, but after their set, I grabbed a copy of their CD and I'll checking them out again in the future. Back to Streetlight though. Opening with their killer track off their sophomore record (excluding their masterful version of Keasby Nights) Somewhere in the Between "Watch It Crash", they played so tight and had me dancing and jumping around instantly. They pulled off other favourite tracks like "Down, Down, Down to Mephisto's Cafe" and their "Point-Counterpoint/Keasby Nights" hybrid over the course of the set, and came back with "Here's To Life" as an encore. Wicked show, and I'll definitely be getting their new record release day (whenever it may be) and I'll be at the next Toronto date!
Well the bands them selves were pretty good, streetlight did very well. The only bad thing was that the sound quality was crap and the music was so loud that everything sounded garbeled if you stood more than 20 feet from the stage due to echos.
Amazing but short. More songs from Keasbey nights should have been played. Tomas and the guys never let down.
Streetlight Manifesto at the Kool Haus. I'll admit I was going to this event only to see Streetlight Manifesto themselves. But when accompanied by 3 other amazing bands, it makes for a truly great night. Broadway Calls opened with an excellent punk/rock set. Followed by Outernationals, with a truly amazing guitarist. And then a hometown favorite, The Creepshow. A punk band who just got signed to a major record label! On top of all that, Streetlight Manifesto rocked the house. A solid, solid show.
They are unreal. I don't know what else to say. Throughout the past 15 years of my life when I have been really into music, my taste has changed. When I discovered SKA music back in high school I've been obsessed with it since. Watching them preform is something really special. The amount of energy that they have is unbelievable. To see a 7 piece band play so well together is amazing. The horns, saxs and everything else is legendary. I will continue to see them when they come back to Toronto cause they are now my favourite band!!!! I LOVE STREETLIGHT MANIFESTO!!!!!!
Best show ive ever been to, great band played perfectly and the crowd was great too!
Amazing show, this is second time I got to see Streetlight and they did not disappoint. Played an awesome set, so much fun!
