About

Sublime with Rome evolved from a multi-generational passion project honoring one of the most quintessential catalogs of the ’90s to a full-fledged band able to stand on their own. Over 10 years after the death of Sublime frontman Bradley Nowell, the Long Beach, California band’s surviving members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh connected with vocalist and guitarist Rome Ramirez and debuted as Sublime with Rome in 2009. The original trio were an instant marquee touring act, headlining their first tour in 2010 before releasing their debut album Yours Truly (2011), which debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 chart. Gaugh stepped down later that year, but Sublime with Rome has carried on to release two more albums, 2015’s Sirens and 2019’s Blessings, along with co-headlining tours featuring The Offspring and Cypress Hill. They’ve also collaborated with Wiz Khalifa, The Dirty Heads and Slightly Stoopid.

The show and venue was fantastic, the beer gardens shut down at 8:30pm which was a little disappointing.

    Foxfest makes a triumphant return

by TheDagda on 2012-08-09Deer Lake Park - Burnaby

Easily the best venue in Greater Vancouver. With 3 awesome acts. Local boy Daniel Wesley got the crowd to light em up with hits like "Oo oh" and "Drunk and Stoned" and passed it down to Hip Hop legends Public Enemy, who most definitly came to "Bring tha Noize" and "Fight The Power". Flavour Flav stole the show. Capping the night off perfectly, Sublime with Rome opened their cloudy set with "Smoke 2 Joints" and so did the crowd. For you Rome haters out there. You have to realize that Rome is NOT trying to be Bradley. Sublime is just trying to move forward with their careers. Nobody hates on Brian Johnson for trying to be Bon Scott or William DuVall for trying to be Layne Staley, so I don't understand all the anamosity toward Rome. In my opinion, it was a great show. Thank you 99.3 The Fox for putting this show together.

The crew of Public Enemy were amazing!!!! I was with a young person in a wheelchair who could not see from the sound booth area when everyone stood up so I helped him to stand in hopes of seeing P.E. Within a minute or so, a member of the Public Enemy crew that was at the sound booth came up to me and asked us to come with him to view from the stage. We had a great view from the side stage and they gave him a T shirt as well!! To top it off; Chuck D brought us out in front of the crowd during their final song.and we had great time with Flavor Flav out there as well. TOTAL CLASS ACTS!!!!! MUCH RESPECT!!!

    PE KILLS LIVE!!!!

by yawwwwwwwwwwn on 2012-08-08Deer Lake Park - Burnaby

I missed pretty much all of Daniel Wesley, although I heard that his set was very good and I heard a couple songs from the beer garden which sounded good. I saw Public Enemy a few years back at the Commodore Ballroom after being a huge fan for over 20 years, and they blew my expectations right out of the water. This time around however, I wondered how the show would translate to a more spread out, outdoor CFox listening (not exactly known for it's hip hop) audience, in the middle of a beautiful park, while still playing in daylight - but once again they blew my expectations right out of the water with a tight, high energy, killer set!!! Those guys just seem to be old pros, doing what they do best and slaying audiences. I've never been that big of a fan of Sublime (liked them, but never loved them), but was pleasantly surprised by their set as well. Although nowhere near the live act that PE is, they cranked out a very tight, high energy, fun set as well that was a great way to cap off the evening. If you like old school hip hop though, you won't see any better than Public Enemy.

Sublime with Rome was everything I thought

by Chrissy402 on 2012-08-08Deer Lake Park - Burnaby

First and foremost I certainly can do without Flavor Flav Although Public Enemy had a large following I was shocked and in Disbelief that CFOX sponsored this I think someone owned somebody something ..... lol Daniel Wesley was awesomely a happy musician anyway and he should have been second on stage since he is a native of BC? Sing alongs was great wih him Sublime whom was my main attraction anyway was what the doc ordered I enjoyed very much there was no problem at the event with any of the fans so good on us (watch out for scalpers, they got someone's money)

    Foxfest was great!

by The604 on 2012-08-08Deer Lake Park - Burnaby

The sun came out just as Daniel Wesley was warming up the crowd (pun intended) and things only got better from there. There is so much room at Deer Lake Park that consession and beer were both easily accessible, and despite how many people were there, getting both was made very easy due to a well planned layout. There was also plenty of green stuff going around for those who enjoy that, because hey it's Vancouver. The highlight of the show was definitely Public Enemy, who really got the crowd jumping. Sublime closed the night with some memorable tunes, and plenty of energy to get the mosh pit fired up. Good job CFOX!

Public Enemy was THE BEST PART!! Then Daniel Wesly

by PrincessandSuperman on 2012-08-08Deer Lake Park - Burnaby

Daniel Wesley came on and was awesome, would love to see him play a full show. Such a good artist. Then Public Enemy came on and they ROCKED it. I believe the first two acts were the best, Sublime was good but I wouldn't go see them again. All in all the concert was very well priced, there was lots of beer and at a good price. No drama or BS. Good time for sure :)

Sublime with Rome & the Dirty Heads was INSANE!!!

by Kingjeffo on 2010-11-11Kool Haus - Toronto

Sublime has been one of my fav bands for 15 yrs... unfortunately since Brad the lead singer died I assumed I would never get a chance to see my fav band. After I heard they reunited with a new singer I was sceptical but checked out some music with Sublime and Rome on Youtube. I thought it sounded great so I bought a 6 tix for my friends and I to check out the show for Aug 20th, 2010. I must say it was everything I expected and more! Dirty Heads opened the set and I had only heard the one radio song prior to the show... they blew me away. So much so I just bought tix to see Dirty Heads this Dec on their return visit... amazing live hiphop group!! Rome even came out for the last song to perform with Dirty Heads and it was awesome!!! Then Sublime came on... WOW!!! These guys played for a couple of hours and played almost every Sublime song ever written... bass, drums, guitar, vocals and sax were unforgettable! If they ever come back to Canada again I will definately be there... my only regret is not buying tix to both back to back nights! The whole crowd was dancing and singing along all night! Not to mention the $50 tix were being scapped for $200 if you can imagine that.
