About

Unlike many of their deathcore peers, Suicide Silence has never tempered their pummeling attack with anything but more pummeling. They don’t wink at the audience, they haven’t turned to mind-bending technicality, and they don't throw gimmicks on their sound to sell tickets. This kind of single-minded performance and attention to self-improvement is what has garnered them two Golden God awards for “Most Innovative Band” and “Best New Talent.” Squealing guitars, frequent tempo changes and punishing breakdowns are all driven forward by Mitch Lucker’s increasingly impressive and controlled voice. A Suicide Silence concert is a sweat-drenched, bruise-inducing storm handcrafted to drive the pit wild on every song.

Suicide Silence was formed in Riverside, CA, in 2002. Within two years, they had released a self-titled EP and, in 2007, their first LP "The Cleansing." After making a splash on the Billboard Top 100, they released albums that have been more popular, gaining more and more traction in the charts with each release. "No Time to Bleed" was released in 2009 and, along with their performances on their Cleansing the Nation Tour and the Pedal to the Metal Tour, it earned them their two Golden God awards. 2011's "The Black Crown" pushed their sound into a more groove-oriented, metalcore sound and featured vocals from Jonathan Davis of Korn. Tragically, after the The All Star Tour with Unearth, Winds of Plague and others, the group lost vocalist Mitch Lucker in motorcycle accident in November 2012. After a month-long stint on the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour with new vocalist Tanner Womack, Suicide Silence did an "Ending is the Beginning: Mitch Lucker Memorial" show for his daughter's future education costs. Late in 2013, the band announced that a new album is to be released on Nuclear Blast in early summer 2014.
