About
SunSquabi on Tour
Bringing the funk is what SunSquabi does best. As the electro-funk genre continues to grow and gain traction amongst music fans, the trio known as SunSquabi have surely made their presence known within it. SunSquabi consists of three members: Kevin Donohue (guitar/keys/production), Josh Fairman (bass/synth) and Chris Anderson (drums). Following the release of their 2022 album, Arise, SunSquabi commenced their 2022 tour in the United States, making stops across the entire country from New York to Texas. SunSquabi's energy is "contagious" as one fan put it. The group tends to fill the auditory space with a mix of quintessential funk and SunSquabi originality that resonates extremely well with listeners. First emerging on the music scene with their debut album, Enhance, in 2011, SunSquabi have consistently been releasing music that has contributed to their steady growth in popularity. After their debut album, they released Odyssey (2016), followed by their Deluxe EP (2017), 2019's Instinct, and 2022's Arise.
SunSquabi Live in Concert
Hailing from Boulder, Colorado, SunSquabi have been producing music together since 2011. The band name comes from a madeup word that was created back when Donohue was in high school. After consistently releasing music as an independent artist, SunSquabi signed with All Good Records out of Detroit. All Good Records happens to be the brainchild of notable electro-funk artist GRiZ. SunSquabi's music often features a combination of psychedelic guitar, groovy bass, percussion to match, and a bit of an electronic component that has continued to captivate audiences from coast to coast. SunSquabi have found success in the ability to combineseveral pieces of genres, including jazz, house, dubstep, progressive rock, and even hip-hop into their music. SunSquabi have collaborated with a number of extremely well-known groups such as The String Cheese Incident, Late Night Radio, Lettuce, and GRiZ. Having received praise from 303 Magazine, JamBase, Live For Live Music, and many more, SunSquabi is on the fast track to become a household name in the electronic music scene. SunSquabi currently have more than 174,000 monthly listeners on Spotify with the single "Cinnamon" grabbing the most attention with 7.5 million streams, followed by "Just a Little" with over 3.7 million streams and "Odyssey" with over 2.2 million streams.
