Supertramp was memorable and didn't disappoint!!!

by Terbear1717 on 2011-06-14Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto

Supertramp was awesome and glad I didn't miss it...they represent a lot of memories and times of my life. The sound could have been higher and the screens could have been bigger but it was time to just sit back, take in the music and reflect on a time gone by. I enjoyed it so much I purchased tickets or Journey on August 9th and we can't wait to once again enjoy the music of my past and make new memories at Ontario Place. It's a great summer experience and I try and capture it every year....Toronto has a lot to offer and Supertramp was a great way to start out the summer season.

    Supertramp

by SweetLou on 2011-06-14Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto

Supertramp, put on a good show at the Molson Amphitheater on June 12th. They covered all of their hits mixed in with new material. The replacement for Hodgson sounds remarkably like him.

I took my mum to see Supertramp and we had an absolutel blast! She loved the venue (I've been many times so I am very familiar) but it was her first time and she was very impressed.

    Supertramp

by Hobknob on 2011-06-13Credit Union Centre - Saskatoon

Supertramp did an excellent job of most of the songs. The sound man appeared to be a bit off. Thoroughly enjoyed the show and would do it again. I thought it was in very poor taste for Rodger Hodgson to be paying someone to be handing flyers of his upcoming tour out front before the show - very poor manners and looked kind of desperate. I was also disappointed that the TCU Place had such a poor set up for drinks and closed them before the show was over.

    Supertramp - Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!

by HBROD on 2011-06-13MTS Centre - Winnipeg

Supertramp was a MUST - SEE and we are sure happy we did. They were totally amazing to see. It would have been great to see Roger Hodgson with them but honestly, the guy who sang his songs did a fabulous job. This was a great show and it made us relive our teenage years!! They definitely still know how to rock!!

    Can't Get Enough!!!

by auchstk on 2011-06-13Credit Union Centre - Saskatoon

Supertramp lived up to my expectations. I have wanted to see them perform since the early 80's and am still kicking myself that I missed their concert in Winnipeg in 87ish. Keep pounding out the tunes. It was a good walk down memory lane.......I'm glad that I took the long way home!!!

    Supertramp did NOT dissapoint

by Bigdog62 on 2011-06-13Credit Union Centre - Saskatoon

Attended Supertramp on Tuesday June 7 in Saskatoon, SK. Fabulous concert! I was concerned about the how "original" the sound would be without Roger Hodgson but there was nothing to worry about. Yes you can notice the difference but the new singers they have to fill in for him are really fabulous singers AND musicians. The whole band has so much talent that you can't help be entertained. It was full of energy! The sound quality was far better than most concerts and the depth of their music was not compromised at all! If you like Supertramp....GO to the concert. You won't be disappointed!

The whole evening was great they souned awesome. The only part that was upsetting was when we went to buy a shirt (right at 7 when the doors opened)they said they only had small and medium left in the ladies shirts. The concert just started how could that be possible, they said that is all they brought with them.

    Supertramp -

by Diver on 2011-06-12Credit Union Centre - Saskatoon

I experienced Supertramp for the first time in Saskatoon in the 70's one of the first bands I had seen in person and loved the experience, I have seen them several times since and never tire of their musical talent. Their music has that sound that says "we are original" (even with new members they pull it off well) their show in Saskatoon had lots of nostalgic moments from that 70's tour that kicked it off for them made me feel like a kid again. They are fantasic musicians on every level. Only downside is that in today's performances we seem to expect so much visual effects with the music and this is not that show they play, and they play well.

    Entertaining!

by Spin2Win on 2011-06-12John Labatt Centre - London, ON

I lost track of the group after Breakfast in America, but loved Crime of the Century & Crisis. The 9 piece touring group did these albums justice (including a 10th member replicating the cover of Crisis? What Crisis?). I enjoyed the newer songs that front-loaded the show, and could really get into the classics. Hodgson's high-pitched vocals were easily covered off by the other members of the band. They made good (but limited) use of a huge projection screen (especially for Rudy). They played for almost 2 /2 hours, with a great 3 song encore.

    Supertramp

by sHaBo on 2011-06-12Credit Union Centre - Saskatoon

This concert was incredible. I was very upset that more poeple did not show up, however if you did not go it was your loss. It was a great show which was packed with hit music from a legendary band.

Supertramp exceeded expectations - Must See!

by IBlank on 2011-06-12Credit Union Centre - Saskatoon

I came to the concert as a long time fan expecting to see a band with some new faces that did a credible job at recreating their old magic. What we received was a band that appeared to have the years melt away as they played through the night. To put the experience in a single phrase, they were mesmerizing and absolutely fantastic! The band covered many of their classics and were spot on in terms of sound and performance, relative to the recorded masterworks from decades past. If you share a fondness for the music of Supertramp you must make time to see them in concert. You will not be dissappointed.

    Dissapointing

    by Sweet48 on 2011-06-12MTS Centre - Winnipeg

I found the concert to be disappointing. I felt that they played too many slow songs and it sounded a little too jazzy for me.

    worth the wait-supertramp

by johhnybrt on 2011-06-12Rogers Arena (formerly General Motors Place) - Vancouver

Had tickets to their concert at Empire Stadium but didn't get to go. Took me over 30 years to get there but was so worth the wait. What an amazing bunch of musicians.

    Thoroughly enjoyable!

by luder on 2011-06-12MTS Centre - Winnipeg

The show started about 20-30 minutes late, which was not an issue, and once it got going it was steady. They played a good selection of their tunes, told a couple of stories as lead-ins to some of their songs, and it was very mellow without being dull. Again, it was steady, they engaged the audience. I ended up feeling like I was in a cozy lounge that just happened to seat several thousand people! Not only was the show great, but the audience was very into the music and into enjoying themselves without taking away from the enjoyment of others through obnoxious acts. Thumbs up all around!
