About

Switchfoot are a Grammy-winning rock band from San Diego, California. Formed in 1996 by brothers Jon and Tim Foreman and drummer Chad Butler, the group released three albums before gaining major label attention following several prominent syncs in the 2002 romantic drama A Walk to Remember. In 2003, Switchfoot released their breakout fourth album The Beautiful Letdown, which went triple-platinum behind the band’s first Hot 100-charting singles “Meant to Live” and “Dare You to Move.” Their 2005 follow-up, Nothing Is Sound, hit a career-peak No. 3 on the Billboard 200, and the band would log another three Top 10 albums with 2011’s Vice Verses, 2014’s Fading West and 2016’s Where the Light Shines Through. Additionally, Switchfoot have earned six No. 1s on the Top Christian Albums chart, and their 2009 effort Hello Hurricane nabbed the band’s first Grammy for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album. In 2023, Switchfoot released The Beautiful Letdown (Our Version), a 20th anniversary re-recording via their self-run independent label, lowercase people records.

  • Intense

Switchfoot was awesome. They had incredible stage presence, and sounded just as good live as on their record. They had a way of bringing a lot of heart and intensity through the music. Not only do they put on a good show, but they involve their fans and are interacting with their audience. Good show Good time I'd go again in a heartbeat.

  • The always amazing Switchfoot!

The concert was everything I wanted and more! I have been a HUGE fan of Switchfoot for a few years now, but have never seen them live before! My only complaint was that it was too short--I didn't want the night to end! It's one thing to love a song, then to see it being played out in front of you, with people all around singing the lyrics with you, and Jon Foreman nearly stepping into the crowd! Ri-dic-u-lous!

  • Great sound at Switchfoot, great set list too!

Great event! Audio and vocals were crystal clear, played the greats, and some awesome new tunes. I anticipate the new album at the end of the year, hello hurricane!

  • Switchfoot, A night with the stars!

by RobK on 2009-07-15The Phoenix Concert Theatre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The Pheonix show of Switchfoot was good. They played their classic songs, meant to live, This is your life, Stars, etc... But there was an element that was brought to the show, and one could see how what the crowd brought and the band brought, gave the night a truly memorable effect. It made for a really good and enjoyable show.

I've been going to see rock shows for over 25 years and I've seen a lot of them and Switchfoot is one of the best live bands I've ever seen. This was my third time seeing them and it never gets old. They are amazing!!!!

I missed the action, but I dropped off my 16-year-old son and his two friends. When I picked them up they were excited and had had a blast. Switchfoot has a great reputation and is a wonderful and safe event for young people.

The concert was amazing!! Switchfoot rocked the house and played many of my favorite songs. I bought a Friend of the Foot pass and got early admisson to the concert and got to meet them after. Meeting your favorite band is always a life altering experience. The band is always full of energy and very fan friendly which makes seeing them live amazing!
