Taking Back Sunday is one of the most notable bands to emerge from emo’s third wave. The group, which formed in 1999 on Long Island, New York, has featured the lineup of vocalist Adam Lazzara, guitarist John Nolan, bassist Shaun Cooper and drummer Mark O'Connell for nearly two decades. TBS have released eight studio albums, including their 2002 platinum-certified debut Tell All Your Friends and four career Top 10 releases on the Billboard 200. After 2004’s “A Decade Under the Influence” became their first single to hit the Alternative Airplay chart, the quartet released their breakthrough 2006 effort Louder Now, led by the Hot 100-charting single “MakeDamnSure.” The band spent 2022 collaborating with the likes of Steve Aoki and The Maine before releasing their 2023 full-length, 152.

This was my third time seeing Taking Back Sunday - having seen them a couple of years ago (also at the Kool Haus) and at Warped - this show was the best of the three. Their new album is amazing and hearing Flicker Fade live was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! They went out just after 10 and played for about an hour and half - all solid songs, adding songs that weren't originally on the set list and ending with Flicker Fade, Cute without an E, and Makedamnsure - by which point I had no voice left The Used - who I've never seen before - put on a pretty good show as well - best part was hearing Buried Myself Alive - Live!
Loved all bands that played and both The Used and Taking Back Sunday played a great mix of old and new hits. The Used pumped up the crowd perfectly and left a great feeling for TBS to take the stage. Love Adam and can't wait to see them all again.
They were incredible, very small venue so it was more intimate. Adam played 4 songs from in the crowd @ the back. It was everything I could have wanted and more.
Absolutely amazing performance by 2 of my favourite bands. Thursday brings so much energy to the stage and Taking Back Sunday is back where they want and need to be with the original lineup in place. It was my first time seeing TBS and thank god John Nolan was part of the experience. They did Straylight Run's "Existentialism on prom night" and I almost pooped my pants. Best show i've ever been to, hands down!
Been my favourite band since Tell All Your Friends, hands down the best time I have ever seen them play. Original line up is glorious. They were clean, energetic and perfect. Played everything I wanted to hear.
Great Show!!! They played most of the first CD! It was great!
All American Rejects had an amazing set! I was really supprised. I had only heard the "move Along" album which isnt that great. They played a lot of older stuff that was amazing! They had great stage presence, and really got in touch with the audience. And the guitar-bitch was pretty funny to watch. TBS' set was sweet. I was 2 people from the stage, and rocked out the entire time! They opened with "CUTE without the E," and then played 1/2 the new album (boring). But the second half of the set was mostly "Louder Now" Over all: amazing show! I love the house of blues as a venue because its small enough that every seat is good. They had the bass turned up way too loud though. It drowned out all the other guitars....
Location, parking and event all worked well hand in hand with eachother. For not being a huge concert enthusiast I was sceptic on driving my friends internationally from Canada to the U.S. on an uncertain path to an iffy concert. Even to this day I keep reminising on how incredible of a time the conert turned out to be. The performance put on by taking back sunday and guest bands was unforgettable and I immediately sought out to find tickets to another venue by the same band, through ticket master. Overall everything was exceptional and I would encourage anyone to check out this band and others like it but only through the security and reliablity of ticket master.
To all of you TBS fans in Toronto that did not go to this concert, SHAME ON YOU. TBS rocked Kool Haus! Awesome show! They played a ton of songs (more than most bands would play). They started their set with Whats It Like To Be A Ghost! Awesome! They played on for 2 hours, playing a bunch of songs off their new album "New Again", BTW, if you havent picked this album up already, make sure you do so, I love it. And of course they played a bunch of their hits like Liar, Liar, Decade Under the Influence, Cute without the E, You're so Last Summer and so on. They ended the show with Make Damn Sure, great choice. They played all their songs to prefection, it couldnt of got any better. The energy at the show was so exstatic I thought Kool Haus was going to blow up! One of the best shows I seen. Highly recommended to all to see them again or next time if you were unable to attend. Plus we had a bonus in Toronto, they performed "Everything Must Go" from their new album for the first time. Great song! But heck, all of the new album is great.
When I was around 15 years old I saw Taking Back Sunday live for the first time and I decided they were the best live act of all time and front-man Adam Lazzara was definitely mancrush-worthy. I’ve gone through some growing up, musical changes, and the viewing of several more concerts since then. Taking Back Sunday has gone through the change of a couple of members, a few more albums and several tours since then. Now, I’m still convinced Taking Back Sunday is the best live act today. The band dominated their set with support from Moneen and Everlea. Adam made dreams come true as he killed track after track. It was a show where you realize that their recorded work couldn’t possibly match their live versions. Two songs in, Adam made dreams come true as he put his mic-stand aside and flew through a repertoire of microphone slinging tricks. He threw his mic up into the air only to catch it the moment it was time for him to deliver a verse. He swung his mic outwards and it coasted in circles, wrapping around his neck only to make its way to his mouth so he could drop the chorus. He threw his mic away and whipped it back in an instant; around his elbow, into his palm. Perfection. Taking Back Sunday was phenomenal live. They played a solid set, took requests at the end and played everything I inaudibly asked for. If you get the chance to see them, don’t think twice.
After missing the initially scheduled date for a hospital visit, Taking Back Sunday came back, made up for the missed date, and then some. Vocals were clean and beautifully layered. Matt Fazzi's addition to the band was great, but Adam's heartfelt performance of Where My Mouth Is stole the show. Between the missed date and the rescheduled one, I missed three days of work and paid for two round trips from London to Toronto. It was so amazing that I'd do it again tonight.
Taking Back Sunday at the kool haus was simply amazing... They always put on a great show that is never disappointing! They play tons of songs from each album and they connect with their fans which makes it unforgettable!
They put on such an amazing show and sound even better live then on the albums. It was amazing that Matt played with a broken foot.
I have seen all of these bands before but this show was by far one of the best I have seen so far! I loved it!
Taking Back Sunday was excellent. They played a mix of all their CD's and were very sorry for having to cancel their last concert in Toronto. They played an extra song just because they felt bad and they let the crowd pick the song!!
taking back sunday was unreal. Very interactive with the fans and played all the greats.
best concert i've ever been too! it was amazing, they were awesome, LOVED it! =D
Wow! That was an amazing concert! I never expected it to be so good. Someone told me that TBS didn't sound the best live, and i was like yah ok. I showed them, they were GREAT! When i first got there to wait in line, i was like oh man this is gonna be a long wait. But, one of the members from TBS was pretty entertaining in the parking lot for the first bit (im pretty sure it was Matt). And closer to the time that the gates were opening, Justin Dube (the lead singer of Everlea) came over to me and introduced himself to my friend and I. He was such a nice guy, made my day. But back to the music. Everyone's performance last night was AMAZING! Everlea is now one of my favourite bands, just amazing! Moneen were amazing! I never heard of them until last night and wow they were great! Then, Taking Back Sunday of course were amazing! I cant wait to see them again, please come back to Toronto! :) Thanks for a great show.
Amazing stage pressence with a funny attitute with the crowd! a MUST see!!!!
