Tears for Fears on Tour

Tears for Fears is so legendary that their unique interpretation of synth-pop is almost synonymous with '80s pop culture. Noel Gallagher of Oasis was even quoted referring to them as "the Beatles of the '80s." The group's masterful melodies and thought-provoking lyrics have captivated fans for over four decades, and now, they're back on the road for the trans-Atlantic The Tipping Point Tour. The tour takes its name from the duo's 2022 album, The Tipping Point, which is said to reflect the group's personal and professional "tipping points." The album's title track details life and struggles with grief and loss but does so in a characteristically uplifting way that only Tears for Fears can achieve. With such an emotionally charged yet upbeat album, fans can expect an unforgettable live show. Don't miss your chance to see Tears for Fears on their highly anticipated The Tipping Point Tour in 2022.

Tear for Fears Live in Concert

Tears for Fears was formed in Bath, England, in 1981 by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith. The two derived the band name from psychologist Arthur Janov's unconventional primal scream therapy. Inspired by synth-pop artists like Gary Numan and Depeche Mode, the group developed a unique sound that quickly gained a devoted following. The band released their debut album, The Hurting, in 1983. The album reached No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart, and the single "Mad World" reached No. 3 in the UK and has remained popular since. The band's second album, Songs from the Big Chair, was released in 1985 and was an even bigger hit than their first. The album peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and went multi-platinum in the UK and U.S. It included hits like "Shout" and "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," which have maintained mainstream popularity to this day. The group split in 1991 after releasing their third platinum-selling album, The Seeds of Love, in 1989. Orzabal continued Tears for Fears as a solo act and released the albums Elemental in 1993 and Raoul and the Kings of Spain in 1995. Luckily, the pair reunited in 2000 and released the aptly named album Everybody Loves a Happy Ending in 2004. The band has toured since and released The Tipping Point in February 2022. The Tipping Point is their sixth UK Top 5 album.

    Absolutely Fabulous!!!

    by Clover8 on 2023-07-28

One of the best concerts I've seen in awhile! I only wish'd they had a few larger screens beside the stage for fans like myself to see more upclose;( as I got used to these at most concerts as of last few years.)

Loved Tears For Fears and the opening act, Cold War Kids. Great sound, played all the hits and some good new songs.

    Could have been better!

    by Homer on 2023-07-28

The show was great but I felt they missed to play some old time favorites like "Mother's talk and "Change". Promotion fot the new album should be limited to maybe 5 songs the most and the rest should be their greatest hits.

    TFF Still Sound Great!

    by Jeff on 2023-07-28

I actually can’t recall a concert that sounded so good! Just a great show, a mix of old classics and about 6 songs from the new album Tipping Point. But the sound … Roland and Curt’s vocals sounded like studio recordings! If you’re a fan of one of the biggest bands of the 80’s you won’t be disappointed.

Still sound as good 49 years later

    by CampingmanBC on 2023-07-27

Really enjoyed this concert. Brought back memories of my 80’s childhood. Humble band and sound as good as they did 40 years ago. Mixture of classics and new album. Nicely done!

    Fun and Nostalgic

    by HC on 2023-07-27

This was one of my favourite concerts! Tears for Fears is amazing! Their voices are still fantastic and it was nice to be in the atmosphere where everyone else knows the songs. It was organized and everyone seemed to be so friendly.

    The Boyz still have it!

    by SG on 2023-07-27

I have waited for 38 years to see Tears for Fears - they haven’t been near where I live since 1993, and I missed them then somehow. Needless to say, my expectations were high - and Curt and Roland delivered in spades! Their voices sound as good as ever, and their new material is as enjoyable as their older work. I loved every moment of the concert and my only regret is that it was over too soon - so I’m going again in Seattle tonight!! Keep rocking, Tears for Fears, and please come back soon!!

    Just an excellent evening ..

    by HeideHo on 2023-07-27

They did not disappoint. My husband and I have been fans from day one. We love the vocals, the musicianship, the entire evening. Such a whole musical experience. Right up there with the rest of our memorable concert dates. So happy they are still making excellent music and memories for all their fans.

tears for fears great but started too late

    by simona on 2023-07-27

I loved the concert but I sure didn't appreciate the hour long concert of the opening band 'the cold war kids'. IT was awful, also if a concert is said to start at 7.30 should not start at 9! Very disappointed with that. The Tears for Fears were amazing though.

    by 1980's Fan on 2023-07-27

Would have like to have heard more of their older hits. Have been waiting for over 10 years to see them in Western Canada. I did like their new songs though and will be buying their new CD.

    by Klank on 2023-07-27

Wasn't sure how the boys would sound after all these years. They nailed every note and with incredible power or sensitivity whatever was needed. Both my daughter and myself are huge tears for fears fans. Thank you

Awesome experience to see them live for the first time.

    by Xela on 2023-07-27

It was a great performance overall, their voice hasn’t changed throughout the years.Seems like they’re still the same way back in the 80”s.

    by Rosie on 2023-07-27

Tears for Fears, The Tipping Point Concert was a true trip back to good times and feelings, and at the same time, an invitation to the new works of this act. All went very smoothly, the hosts were very helpful and kind. Thank you!
