TESSANNE CHIN IN CONCERT:
Jamaican reggae songstress Tessanne Chin has been gracing audiences with her powerhouse voice since first breaking onto the scene in 2013. Whether she's singing No Doubt's "Underneath It All" or belting out one of her acclaimed originals, Chin commands the stage with her vocal prowess and effortlessly cool style. BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Influenced by her musical family, Tessanne Chin got her start pursuing music at a young age, attending a performing arts school in Jamaica at age six. After earning a spot on Jimmy Cliff's three-year tour, she began writing songs for her debut album In Between Words and performed at several reggae festivals in her hometown. Chin earned her big break on the 2013 season of The Voice, quickly becoming a household name and going on to win the competition with her earth-shattering voice. Since then, she's sung at the White House for President Obama and performed alongside legends like Patti Labelle and Gladys Knight, earning her salt as one of soul's biggest new sensations. On the road in 2014, she'll headline The Voice Summer Tour in support of her highly anticipated self-titled debut.
Tessanne Chin was outstanding. What could have been better? - back up band could have been a little quieter to more profile her voice. The MC was good, but did not like the Kim Davis opening act. There was obviously backup singers and music but not on stage, so it appeared to be lip synching.
I enjoyed the whole show. I only wish it was longer.
She truly has powerhouse vocals and seems to be one of the sweetest, most humble performers out there. Somehow I don't think super-stardom will get to her head like some other artists because she is NOT like any other artist out there. Her banter between songs really pulled you in and made the entire performance much more intimate than I expected. She delivered every song effortlessly and her band was on point! Comedian/MC Jay Martin brought down the house with his wit and charm, opening artist Kim Davis had an impressive set and ended with her hit "Show Me The Way". There was a surprise appearance and performance by the Canadian Tenors which just blew everyone away. Overall, I would recommend seeing Tessanne Chin live anytime she's in town.

I purchased the meet and greet tickets for this event. there was no information shared around when the meet and greet would take place, Sony Centre didn't know, Ticketmaster didn't know, as apparently the mgt. company hadn't shared anything. The day before, after calling repeatedly, I was told to go to the Sony Centre for 6:30pm. Everyone showed up, but no one was there to greet us. After waiting for an hour, we were then led into a private area with cocktails and some food and told Tessanne would be up in about an hour. This never happened and finally when it was 9:00pm, we were told she would be doing the meet and greet after the show. We were missing the opening acts and did not get to see them. Finally, we got out to the show and Tessanne came on stage for an hour. She was terrific as expected. But still I have a very bad taste in my mouth about the experience. After the show she did come up for a meet and greet, but it was so disorganized. People were rushing her, there was no table, no line, no photographer. She even looked worried at the mess that was occurring. Finally, security came in to try to get some order, people randomly pushed for pictures and got them. what a gong show overall..........never again.
Tessanne have a performance that was second to none. She is beautiful inside and out. The whole show was fabulous.
Tessanne's performance was excellent, however it would appear that there was no sound engineer for the event or they were thinking that they were engineering a Symphony Show. Half if the time, one could not hear the main microphone, the MC was difficult to hear, Kim Davis voice was jumbled and Canadian Tenors could not be heard at all. At one point, all one heard was Bass. If these are the regularly employed Sony Theatre sound engineers, then I would think twice about attending another event of any kind there.
Great Comedian, Great Opening Act, It was a refreshing to see a show where the artists voice shines, she did not need fireworks and gimmicks, her voice was top form,
We were impressed with the MC and Tessanne. Kim Davis played to a track and we found that the audience lost interest with her act fairly soon on into it. We love Tessanne but think that in order to become a little more mainstream she is going to have to reduce the amount of reggae in the act. While we are of Jamaican decent and love reggae, this played into the act a little too much. (personal view) Keep up the great work Tessanne. You have a wonderful voice and a wonderful nature about you.
Could not ask for a better performance. Opening act was great, Mc was funny and the main act was worth every dollar!
Awhh what a performance! ! Her voice, her spirit, her energy, her humor is like no other. .Tessanne concert is both for the young and old anyone who loves music would enjoy her show..a must see...Enjoy and one love
Her performance was simply incredible. What a voice! What a multi-talented artist. I mean, singing alongside the Canadian Tenors, come on! Doing Whitney like nobody's business. Wow. Gwaan Tess you do yourself and Jamaica proud. Your future is so bright it burns my eyes.
