    Seemed unorganized

by Manly31 on 2015-08-26Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto

We arrived at the gate to go in at 5pm and took an hour to get in. No idea what time they started letting people in but it was like they were not prepared for the amount of people. The concert started at 6pm so a lot of people were pissed because they missed part of the show. Seemed like it was the first time they had a crowd this big which isn't the case. Concert itself was good. Kids had a blast.

Big Ticket - Buy some merch

by CrankyMom on 2015-08-25MTS Centre - Winnipeg

I should start off by saying that my 8 year old daughter loved the concert and bottom line that is what really counts....However for an adult this was a painful concert to attend. First band was The Tide who played 3 songs and then there was a break to "buy some merch!", next up Shane Harte who might have played 4 songs, then another break to "buy some merch!" then the Vamps were up who were undeniably our favourite act. I am not sure why there were no cameras to show what was happening on stage because when the Next Step Dancers came on stage it was very hard to see them and having it displayed on a big screen would have been a big help. Becky G was very anti climatic, with all the breaks, kids were getting tired and the fact that she really only has one song that was played at the end of the set didn't help.

    Too Much Down Time!

by catmac on 2015-08-25Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

I brought my 10 yr old niece visiting from Thunder Bay. The line up for merchandise was ridiculous. Only 1 station! How absurd. No wonder they left 20 minutes between sets. If all I wanted to watch were videos, I would have stayed home and watched the Family Channel. Another thing, the stage lighting sucked. Every time a band member or dancer came up to the large speakers on either side of the stage they were not spotted but in darkness. What a shame.

    I cried way too much

by Flag on 2015-08-25Stampede Corral - Calgary

It was so much fun. I had the best time with my best friend. Her and I went to One Direction earlier this summer and I had more fun at The Big Ticket Summer Concert.

Family Big Ticket Summer Concert Rocked!

    by CooksCreek2015 on 2015-08-24MTS Centre - Winnipeg

My mom brought me and my friend (both age 9) to the concert. We had a blast! All the acts were spectacular, although our favourites were The Vamps and Becky G! They rocked and got the crowd up and dancing!

    TNS was amazing! !!

by Momof on 2015-08-23MTS Centre - Winnipeg

It was a great evening. The bands were great. TNS was awesome. The only thing I didn't like was all the standing and holding up posters. People couldn't see behind them and a lot of little kids couldn't see. I felt really bad for them.

    Family event??

by Anonymous on 2015-08-22Stampede Corral - Calgary

My 8 year old daughter was pretty excited for it, but did not really enjoy Becky G. I thought her songs and actions were inappropriate for a family event. She liked the Vamps tho, and the next step dancers were really good

    Fun big ticket concert!

by XSVee on 2015-08-21Abbotsford Centre - Abbotsford

Great concert. Awesome sound and acts! My favorites were The Vamps and Shane Hart. The intermissions were too long! 3 hours is a bit much for a kids concert. T-Shirts were too much $$$!!

It was my daughter's first concert

    by Angle77 on 2015-08-21Rexall Place - Edmonton

We loved everything! The Tide was great! Shane Harte was wonderful! The Vamps were awesome! The next step dancers are unbelievable! Becky G was a bit inappropriate for my 8 year old. Even she mentioned it. I will definately go again. Next time the whole family will attend!

    Pretty good show.

    by Meandmygirls72 on 2015-08-20Stampede Corral - Calgary

The first 4 acts were fantastic! But when Becky G came on stage, I was very disappointed. Her style of music didn't really fit with this kid concert. Bootie shorts and a dancer with nothing but a bra on the top was not appropriate for this audience. I would relate this music with a heavy dance crowd or even a rave, and I don' t want my girls to be in that setting ...... We left before it was over.

Becky G Not a Show for Children.

    by dad68 on 2015-08-20Stampede Corral - Calgary

The show was fair. The pacing was awful. The time between sets for tear down and set up, was without flow, although the two MC's did their best. The Tide, The Vamps and The Next Step were very impressive. Shane Hardt needs vocal lessons and a new rhythm section. Becky G should have been performing in the red light district anywhere but the BMO centre. Who books an act like Becky G for kids? Gyrating body parts, pumping 'club' music and sexual language and innuendo is absolutely not appropriate for preteens. Come on Family Channel and whoever else put this together. Please understand who your audience is in an event for preteens. We left during Becky G's performance, as did many other parents with their kids in tow with the very same expression. One of disbelief at the lack of discretion for your closing act. The Vamps were the bomb. I would hesitate next time and check the appropriateness of the acts before I would ever consider taking my young daughter again.

    Big Ticket needs a review

    by dad68 on 2015-08-20Stampede Corral - Calgary

My wife and daughter went to the BigTicket Summer concert with hopes and expectation that this was a family event. That worked out just fine until Becky G hit the stage and grinded/crotch grabbed for just long enough to make my daughter cry and convince my wife they needed to leave (they weren't alone, many parents left feeling this act was inappropriate). Becky is not portrayed like this in her videos and my daughter was really looking forward to seeing her. What are the Family Channel organizers thinking allowing their acts to present themselves like this? In addition, she appeared to be lip-syncing. How about getting some real talent to headline?

    Big Ticket Summer

by DisgruntledAuntie on 2015-08-20Stampede Corral - Calgary

The first three, all male acts were appropriate and fun. The Next Step dancers, also fine. Then Becky G came on. She was dressed like Madonna in fishnet tights and a teddy. Her female dancers wore bras and booty shorts, males fully clothed in t-shirts and black pants. Highly sexualized dancing - may as well have been at the strippers. Is this what a family event looks like? Why is the only female performed hypersexualized... but not any of the males? What a horrifying disappointment. We walked out of FRONT ROW, Family Channel. NOT appropriate to sell sex to 4-12 year old children (which is the targeted audience). I was not alone walking out. Very disappointing. Filed a complaint. Waiting for Family Channel to respond to this. Shows marketed to children should not contain hyper-sexed up females in underwear and songs about 'making him wait for it'

Next Step AMAZING-but BeckyG too sexy for audience

    by CalgaryMom9 on 2015-08-20Stampede Corral - Calgary

Went with my 9 year old daughter- and many other moms were there with daughters in the 8-12 year old range. Considering the audience, Becky G's performance was far too sexual. Her dancers were really talented, but the dance moves were quite sexual and the costumes were too skimpy. I am certainly not a prude, but it was making my 9 year old daughter uncomforable - and me. The Vamps video also had far too much greasing of bare chests and lying in bed unclothed, etc.. I think considering the very young demographic - Family Channel got the tone wrong. The Next Step dancers, however, were absolutely stunning: properly attired, and showing our Girls what strong, athletic, healthy young women look like - and can do! The Tide was also really talented: my favourite musical performance by far.
