The Black Crowes are leaving the bullshit in the past. 15 years after their last album of original music, the Robinson Brothers present Happiness Bastards - their 10th studio album. Some may say the project has been several tumultuous years in the making, but we argue it's arriving at just the right time. Call it brotherly love or music destiny that brought them back together, the highly anticipated record consecrating the reunion of this legendary band just may be the thing that saves rock & roll. In a time where the art form is buried beneath the corporate sheen of its successors, The Black Crowes are biting back with the angst of words left unsaid penned on paper and electrified by guitar strings, revealing stripped, bare-boned rock & roll. No gloss, no glitter, just rhythm and blues at it's very best - gritty, loud, and in your face.
Since The Black Crowes reunited in 2019, they've made a triumphant return to form with over 150 shows spanning 20 countries worldwide, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Shake Your Money Maker, the album that put them on the map. Upon their return from the road, they knew they needed something new to show for their lost time. The Robinson Brothers and longtime bassist Sven Pipien headed to the studio with producer Jay Joyce in early 2023 and the experiences of years past transcribed themself through the music as the band found their way back to their roots. And it's finally here - Happiness Bastards is out March 15, 2024.
Such a great band ! And in the best music venue in Toronto. Thanks for inviting the Black Crowes to Toronto. Please bring them back. They never disappoint !
It was a magical night from start to finish. It took 30 years to finally see the Black Crowes and they didn’t disappoint. No glitter and glam , southern rock and blues. They rocked the house and left me wanting more. A great tight group of musicians Thank you so much for your Montreal show. Love ❤️ this band!!!
I'm ashamed to admit that I wasn't expecting much. I guess I thought we'd get the old man reunion tour vibes of most 'older' bands. I was so wrong. They were amazing. The band sounded great. Chris was so energetic and sounded amazing! I think he felt the energy of a very enthusiastic crowd who weren't just there to hear the Shake Your Moneymaker tunes. The last time I saw them was in 1996 on their Three Snakes and One Charm tour, and I have to say, I think they might have been better this time. Great show!
Opening with The Sheepdogs would have been the best night of my life!
Old school rock and roll at its finest 👌 🙌 Gen x band at its prime...beginning to end they did not disappoint.
I loved seeing this stadium band in a small venue. I’ve always wanted to see the Black Crowes, and this is the way to see them!!
Great R&R show with a deaf soundman!!! Chris was in good shape.
Black Crowes were amazing!!! The new album is fantastic!!!
We had not been to the venue before and were excited! It was really great to see the Black Crowes- really enjoyed about 4 of their songs, including a couple of new ones; great musicians but it was uncomfortably loud! Lead singer brilliant voice but very difficult to hear lyrics. Also, would have been nice to have had solo turns and thank you’s for individual musicians. The support band was really fresh!!
The Black Crowes a rock and roll band that is at their very finest to hear once again! Great vocals, great concert hall to hear the band that sounded so clearly, tight, and just plain rocking my friends of the Crowes! Can’t wait to see them again and again on tour!
Love the venue, was excited to hear their songs, lots of new to us songs. For this venue we found the sound was cranked up way too loud that it it distorted the songs and made the music not as nice to listen to.
Totally forgettable. Booòooooooooooòoooooooooooooo
Thoroughly enjoyed this concert, they played all the old hits and some fabulous new songs.
This show was next level. Completely felt like they went back to their roots of deep southern blues & solid rock ‘n roll. One of the most well curated shows I’ve ever seen. How they sounded even better after all these years is beyond me. I’m still smiling. It’s definitely a must see show!
Awesome southern rock guitar band. The new album is great!
I’ve seen them 10 times and I can’t wait until they come around again!!!
Loved the show, it was high energy and fun. The Black Crowes sounded amazing!! Would be nice if the venue left the bar open a little longer but everything else was fabulous.
Love the Crowes, and their commitment to rocking hard, but really it’s too loud. I go to lots of shows and I always have. This is not an old man comment. Their show is objectively too loud. You can’t hear the organ or the backup singers. And my ears are still ringing the next morning…
Shake Your Money Maker was the 2nd tape I bought myself at 13 and have been Black Crowes fan ever since!! I never thought that id see them in Canada let alone Abbotsford. They put on an amazing show! I had huge expectations because that album is in my top 5 of all time and they crushed it!!
One of the great things about Shake Your Money Maker is that it starts with an upbeat hit that energizes the listener. So, opening a show like that warmed up the audience quickly and the band never let it slow. Good job on making a rock n roll experience!
