BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT: Curtis Roush and Jack O’Brien assembled the first incarnation of Bright Light Social Hour in 2004 while they were attending Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX. After spending a year apart to study audio engineering and flamenco guitar, respectively, the two relocated to Austin to restart the group, gaining early notoriety with their high-energy shows and experimental sounds. Their self-titled 2010 debut generated buzz for the band and earned them slots on high-profile festivals like SXSW, Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza, and Hangout Music Festival. Following years of touring, the band decided to enter the studio again to self-produce their 2015 sophomore album Space Is Still the Place.
