The Chicks are one of country music’s most influential and boundary-pushing groups. Formed in Dallas, Texas, in 1989 by sisters Emily Strayer and Martie Maguire, The Chicks (formerly known as the Dixie Chicks) rocketed to pop stardom with the addition of lead vocalist Natalie Maines in 1995. The multi-platinum trio would go on to win 12 Grammy Awards and become the best-selling female band of all time in the U.S., with 33 million albums sold worldwide. By blending honky-tonk with bluegrass and soaring pop vocals, The Chicks appealed to a diverse audience that stretched far beyond their country roots. Signature hits like 1999’s “Cowboy Take Me Away” and 1998’s “Wide Open Spaces,” along with their bluegrass virtuosity, saw The Chicks go from opening for Tim McGraw in 1999 to headlining massive concert tours that have sold over $100 million in tickets. 2020’s Gaslighter (produced by Jack Antonoff) was The Chicks’ first album in 14 years, and the catalyst for a 2023 tour where country-pop superstar Maren Morris will join the trio on a string of dates.

This one of the best concerts ! Great acoustics ! WAs definitely worth the drive up from another city !
If you are hoping to hear much pre “gaslighter” music on this tour, maybe just pass on the tickets. These girls were my favourite band for over two decades, I was here through the rough times cheering them on, and after this concert, I felt they had done me dirty. 😢
This was the first time seeing the Chicks, I've loved them ever since I was in my 20s. I was very happy with the show, they are extermely talented and sounded incredible. My husband came with me and isn't as big of a fan, he also enjoyed the show saying "Natalie's voice is one of the best he's ever heard live". I would highly recommend going!
I grew up listening to The Chicks and have always talked about going to see them one day. I knew it would be a good show but it was the best show!! I took my mom and we partied hard. We screamed and laughed and cried. It was by far the absolute best concert I have ever been to. I would 1000% go again in a heart beat.
The Chicks were great. The Saddledome however, sucks. It’s no wonder artists skips over yyc. We arrived shortly after the doors opened at 6:30pm. We were told that all debit and Apple Pay was not working and you could only use a physical credit card to buy food/drinks. Neither my friend or I had brought our credit cards as we didn’t bring our purses and anticipated using our Apple Pay or debit cards. It’s a cashless venue so we didn’t bring any cash either. I didn’t receive an email from Ticketmaster until 7pm (when we were already seated) that there was an issue with debit and Apple Pay at the Saddledome. And the Saddledome didn’t post anything on their social media until 7pm. I’m sure we weren’t the only people who went without food and drinks (including water) for hours during the concert. The Chicks were fantastic. I loved the concert. But I doubt I’ll willingly attend anymore concerts or sporting events at the Saddledome. It was a disappointing evening.
The Chicks were absolutely amazing. Their raw talent was total joy to get to experience. They are true entertainers. Must see!
It was a good concert. Honestly, the only thing that kind of irked me was the long wait between Maren Morris and The Chicks. We waited over 45 minutes. I get that they need to change sets, but Maren Morris only performed for over half an hour. Maybe keep playing a bit longer. Also, The Chicks played so many ballads in the middle of the show that honestly almost put me to sleep. I saw many people leave the concert around this time. It’s late so I would recommend avoiding too many ballads if you want your audience to stay awake and present. They totally lost the crowd when they did this. They started awesome and ended great but the middle was very slow. Good concert overall though.
Loved the Chicks! They've been on my list for a long time, and I finally got to check it off. They were even more amazing than I expected they would be. The graphics were very Monty Python like, and sometimes distracting, and some were hilarious! I'll never get the image of Trump and Putin out of my head. Thanks Chicks and your fantabulous band.
The Chicks only came & sang songs, they didn’t put on much of a show, didn’t do any encore. Found it very political and Trashy towards the end. I would never go see them again. Show was very poor, and only sang a few older songs, which the fans loved the most.
The Chicks were amazing . Continuous Entertainment! The only thing was the back up was Marin Morris and she was great too ! I really like her but her band was too loud! She’s got a go powerful voice and she had to sing over the music! Our Apple Watches were going off saying it went over 100 decimals! Her stage was up front and when the Chicks came out they were set back further so it sounded better..
Except for people smoking pot and a rude woman in the 300's when we asked her nicely to sit down so we could see. Not enough leg room. It was great
Didn't play their most popular song, Trouble, and it was just mediocre. Mostly just blathering and new stuff that I didn't know. Not worth it at all, would not go again.
The chicks have been on my bucket list for years, and when I saw them in Vancouver, bc, they lived up to my expectations and more. One of the best concerts I have seen.
They were amazing. Music was very good. I would see them again for sure.
The Chicks had three or four songs that were recognizable but the sound was so distorted that you could only hear half of what was said. They could of done better by turning down the amps.
Aside from the traffic into downtown, it was a great night! Both MM and the Chicks were great and the staff at the Arena were pleasant and helpful.
Awesome concert, great crowd too! Will be back next time The Chicks are in Vancouver!
Too political for Canada - we know how messed up gun laws are in the states - didn’t need to see that.
Incredible concert by both acts. Wish they could of played alot longer. Sound, stage show, music all incredible, will be sure to see them again. You will not be disappointed even if you do not know the music, simply incredible!!!
Rarely do you attend concerts where the band far exceeded your expectations. I'd seen them years ago at a music festival but they've come a long way over those two decades. What I witnessed from these three ladies from Texas and their band members was phenomenal. What clearly shows is they enjoy the process of entertaining through their art. Can't wait to see them again...and again!
