About

The Chicks are one of country music’s most influential and boundary-pushing groups. Formed in Dallas, Texas, in 1989 by sisters Emily Strayer and Martie Maguire, The Chicks (formerly known as the Dixie Chicks) rocketed to pop stardom with the addition of lead vocalist Natalie Maines in 1995. The multi-platinum trio would go on to win 12 Grammy Awards and become the best-selling female band of all time in the U.S., with 33 million albums sold worldwide. By blending honky-tonk with bluegrass and soaring pop vocals, The Chicks appealed to a diverse audience that stretched far beyond their country roots. Signature hits like 1999’s “Cowboy Take Me Away” and 1998’s “Wide Open Spaces,” along with their bluegrass virtuosity, saw The Chicks go from opening for Tim McGraw in 1999 to headlining massive concert tours that have sold over $100 million in tickets. 2020’s Gaslighter (produced by Jack Antonoff) was The Chicks’ first album in 14 years, and the catalyst for a 2023 tour where country-pop superstar Maren Morris will join the trio on a string of dates.

  • The chicks were amazing. The opening act was disappointing

by Glen on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The chicks put on a good show but they could have done more to think about their opening act because it was terrible. We couldn't wait for the opening act to get over

  • Exceeded expectations

by Jules on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The Chicks have found a way to have a successful career with staying power. It impresses me that even their newest album is packed with hits, because oftentimes even the greatest artists are unable to pull that off. It was wonderful to watch The Chicks blend together their classic and needy songs. It felt like a party, a walk through time, and a women’s empowerment movement all at once.

  • Accessible Seating

    by J on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

We had a great experience at The Chicks concert. We were in the accessible raised rear entry seats in section 301. Honestly these are exceptional seats for anyone in a wheelchair. My only complaint would be to the guests who decided it was easier to hop the railing in the accessible seating area to get to their seats. Yeah it was probably easier than bothering everyone else in your row but it’s extremely rude behaviour to the people sitting in the accessible area.

  • The Chicks rock the "Maine(s)" Stage in Toronto

by BMc on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The Chicks put on an epic show in Toronto on June 24, 2022. The trio is a force to be reckoned with and by all accounts are getting even better with age. Their performance was fierce, fun and totally fantastic. Their fearless lyrics, banging instrumentals and massive stage presence makes the evening one to remember.

  • Chicks show

What an awesome show! Definitely bring them back. Sorry not to get an encore

  • Great time at The Chicks

by Jedibane on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Great vibe. Very organized all the way through. Calm Star Security down. They were more heavy handed than the Police. More washrooms for women please. Overall thanks for a great time. Yay fishbowls!!!

  • AMAZING ARTISTS!

by MissTDot on 2022-06-27Rating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely loved the opening teaser and extra video aspects of this Gaslighter Tour 2022! Helped that we saw them the night RvsW was overturned by USSC. Natatlie was her awesome self and made it so memorable! As always The Chicks and their band are so talented as musicians and show-people. Was special when Natalie's son and Marnie's daughter came out to play with them - the talent runs deep in these wonderful women! Would have gone for the next night's show if I could have swung it! Can't wait till they come back and I can see them again!

  • Not Bad

    by Bordeaux02 on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Not enough old songs sung and there was no encore. Not really much communication with crowd or much going on, onstage. It was a little disappointing .... The lead singer look like she was not really into the show, maybe it was because of her voice issue.

  • Soooo good!

by Charron on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I had seen them once before, and honestly one of the best shows that I have been too, and I go to a lot of concerts. They sound even better live and I chew talents. It’s just a fun environment. I was only disappointed that they did not play travelling soldier, but that is my only complaint. They started right on time at 8:45 PM and the show went until approximately 1045.

The concert was amazing...one of the best we have ever been to.

  • The Chicks Don’t Disappoint

by County Lady on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

So great to get out and see live music again. These ladies are so talented from their instrument playing (who knew Emily played the violin!! Is there any instrument she can’t play!), vocals and from their stage presence. Definitely a must-see concert!! One of my fav. bands!!

  • Amazing concert!

by Victoria on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The best show I could ever imagine! So fun and emotional in the best way!

  • It was ok

by Rhonnie on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Old songs were great. The lead singer did not seam happy. Giving off a negative vibe. The new songs were all very sad and negative. I get it, she was cheated on and I feel bad for her. You go to a concert to be entertained not to feel bad about her situation. She looked and acted like she didn't want to be there.

  • Great Show

by Mandy on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The Chicks never disappoint!!! Was a fantastic mix of new and old classics.

  • The Always Amazing Chicks!!!

by DMS on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Saw the Chicks on both June 24th and 25th at the Budweiser Stage. Amazing shows and great seats for the second show. Both concerts were VERY well received by the audience, lots of singing along and hug applause! The Chicks never disappoint in my opinion and theses shows were no exception. There were some fun bits they had for this tour - the "roll the dice to pick a song". Very effective background screens to some of the songs. An incredible two nights of talented, intelligent, entertaining music with the coolest female band ever!!

  • Must see

by Jaden on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Wasn’t overly fond of the opener but I understand the whole going back to your roots thing but the chicks 100% must see also kinda cool that Natalie has her son with her playing guitar on tour with them

  • Great to be back!

by RenDup on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

  • The Best Band

by TwoTrickPony on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The Chicks are musical legends. Each member has more talent in their pinky toe, than I have in my entire body. So good! I saw them on Budweiser stage in 2017. I was lawn then, and it was an amazing concert. This time, I splurged and got us so close to the stage, I could actually see the magic of The Chicks playing their many, many instruments. I cannot wait to see them again, hopefully sooner than 5 years.

  • Amazing show

by DJ on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

From start to finish this was a amazing show went both dates

  • It was OK

by chels on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

I love the chicks and went in with high expectations for this concert. And although the ladies are still extremely talented, they definitely lacked energy and a connection to the crowd. Our seats were also on the lawn and the sound didn’t reach far enough making it very difficult to hear the chicks over surrounding conversations. Unfortunately I left a little disappointed, but still a fun night out!
