About

The Chicks are one of country music’s most influential and boundary-pushing groups. Formed in Dallas, Texas, in 1989 by sisters Emily Strayer and Martie Maguire, The Chicks (formerly known as the Dixie Chicks) rocketed to pop stardom with the addition of lead vocalist Natalie Maines in 1995. The multi-platinum trio would go on to win 12 Grammy Awards and become the best-selling female band of all time in the U.S., with 33 million albums sold worldwide. By blending honky-tonk with bluegrass and soaring pop vocals, The Chicks appealed to a diverse audience that stretched far beyond their country roots. Signature hits like 1999’s “Cowboy Take Me Away” and 1998’s “Wide Open Spaces,” along with their bluegrass virtuosity, saw The Chicks go from opening for Tim McGraw in 1999 to headlining massive concert tours that have sold over $100 million in tickets. 2020’s Gaslighter (produced by Jack Antonoff) was The Chicks’ first album in 14 years, and the catalyst for a 2023 tour where country-pop superstar Maren Morris will join the trio on a string of dates.

  • Not the greatest audio

by Alpal on 2022-06-28Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

I love the chicks so much, but felt like the audio could have been better at the Budweiser stage. We were in the seated area and at times it was hard to hear the lyrics Natalie singing.

  • Excellent

by Cass on 2022-06-28Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Although Natalie hasn’t been feeling up to par, the show was a hit. I’m a sucker for the amazing instrumental. I believe this is my 4 or fifth time seeing the chicks and they never disappoint. Can’t wait for next time

  • Amazing Show!!

What a fantastic show! So full of energy and amazing songs!

  • They have been better.

To much new stuff and a little bit too political but given the climate understandable. I come to concerts to escape all that.

  • The chicks Saturday night

    by Seany C on 2022-06-28Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Great gig! Very very good live but let’s be real, everyone wanted travelling soldier to be played. It’s so iconic and one of your most popular songs. To roll the dice on that song is a bit of a joke. Probably would see again if travelling soldier was going to be played.

  • Mediocre

by Forte on 2022-06-28Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

You could barely hear any of the vocals or audio from the lawn.

  • Amazing

by Stephanie on 2022-06-28Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Was a magical night, perfect sounds, perfect instrumentals, great vibes, great images and slightly polictical and welcomed!!! Would go again in a heart beat!!!

The Chicks are a very talented band with beautiful voices, a variety of great music and engaging with their audience. Can’t wait to see them again!

by Lynn on 2022-06-28Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The Chicks were incredible! It was everything I could have imagined and more - humour, emotion and such wonderful memories with my daughter. They are a must see!

  • Strong, Exciting, powerful

by Annie on 2022-06-28Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

A powerful, strong , best concert performance I have been to in a long time. Wouldn’t miss the Chicks , love them, try to get to see them when they are in the city. They are the best ever, they truly know how to entertain and perform to a crowd, ❤️🤗

  • Summer is Here!

by Sunshine on 2022-06-28Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Saw The Chicks June 24th, 2022. Fantastic concert. Sound, crowd vibe, the view of city nightscape - all of it just perfect! Three-cheers for the amazing security that kept people from gathering on the walkway in front of the lawn!! The view would have been lost wothout their effort👍 We had front row lawn seats - came an hour and a half early to snag them, best seats in the house in my view. Only complaint is RUDE concert-goers who find it perfectly acceptable to arrive at 9(!!) when the concert starts at 7:30, and squeeze there asses onto a SLIVER of grass in front of us that literally had them sitting on my TOES and had the nerve to look at US as though we were being unreasonable. Grow some conscience!

  • Best Night Ever

    by Mary-Kate on 2022-06-28Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve seen The Chicks 7-8 times and, somehow, they get better and better each time. It’s been 5 years since they were last here in Canada and it was worth the wait!! My sister and I belted out every word to every song all night long. The Chicks sounded amazing and we just had the best night ever!

  • Chicks were great!

by Lil Ohms on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Chicks were great but the venue needs some work. Seating was a little confusing when there were so many people. Also half the time the camera was on the back of someone’s head instead of on the singers. Also noticed that there would be a guitar solo and the camera was pointed somewhere else. Great concert nice again by the girls

  • Awesome night

by Glen S, Sudbury Ontario on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Two hours of solid music. Awesome sound. Some oldies and some new stuff. Everyone on their feet dancing and singing. A wonderful way to celebrate the loosening of the Covid lockdown. Full kudos to Natalie after battling some throat issues.

  • Awesome evening

by Britt on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Overall what an awesome concert. I haven’t seen a concert since before covid. Definitely wish the concert never ended. I wish they would’ve sang travelling soldier

  • LOVED the show, bathrooms were a hilarious disastee

by Saz on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The show was amazing! Great set list and the videos in the background were so good. The lawn is a lot of fun and the vibes were excellent. However, the bathrooms were just a hot mess. There were not enough bathrooms for the very many women in attendance and the line got unruly quickly - overall quite a messy scene in the bathrooms! They should add much more washroom space to this venue. It was very clearly insufficient.

  • Amazing

by Krystle on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The Chicks never fail to disappoint with their live shows. Amazing energy and set list. Had a blast!

  • Goodbye EARL!

by Swagar on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I love all the 90’s stuff. Love how they are courageous and stand up for Womens rights, very empowering in a man’s world. My Ex was Earl and he was a deadbeat asshole. My girls have grown up without him but he was the kinda “Earl, nobody really missed at all!” I have taught them to be strong, independent but also ever so loved. The concert made me feel all of this.

  • okay

by krysha on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

did not like the graphics or gay parade stuff or don't touch my body stuff...was too much of it, all through the show. would of like more of their oler hits played

  • Concert was great/ Venue prices very highh

by Still in disbelief on 2022-06-27Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Great concert left early to avoid rush hour in Toronto. Got to Budweiser Stage around 3:00pm gates didnt open up until 6:00 pm. This was not great if you needed to go use the washroom they were not close by tou had to walk to get to the washroom because you couldnt get through the gates. As well very expensive inside venue a bittle of water wS $5.50 a tall boy beer was $22.00 and a plastic container that help i regular size bottle of wine was $75.00. All these prices where by dent or credit no cash and therefore some people had no idea the price until it was already poured in container. Pretty sad we pay large for the event then large to get a bottle of water. All i can say is they made a killing in money the first night because the venue was a full house.
