About

The Chicks are one of country music’s most influential and boundary-pushing groups. Formed in Dallas, Texas, in 1989 by sisters Emily Strayer and Martie Maguire, The Chicks (formerly known as the Dixie Chicks) rocketed to pop stardom with the addition of lead vocalist Natalie Maines in 1995. The multi-platinum trio would go on to win 12 Grammy Awards and become the best-selling female band of all time in the U.S., with 33 million albums sold worldwide. By blending honky-tonk with bluegrass and soaring pop vocals, The Chicks appealed to a diverse audience that stretched far beyond their country roots. Signature hits like 1999’s “Cowboy Take Me Away” and 1998’s “Wide Open Spaces,” along with their bluegrass virtuosity, saw The Chicks go from opening for Tim McGraw in 1999 to headlining massive concert tours that have sold over $100 million in tickets. 2020’s Gaslighter (produced by Jack Antonoff) was The Chicks’ first album in 14 years, and the catalyst for a 2023 tour where country-pop superstar Maren Morris will join the trio on a string of dates.

The concert was fabulous; however, some of the fans sitting around us, Sec. 311 Row 12 and up, were obnoxiously drunk and loud which was annoying and distracting.

    by Wjp53 on 2013-10-29Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 2 out of 5

Dixie Chicks showed no live show personality, performers didn't speak or interact with each other. It was like they were just going through the motions.

The show was fun (other than the drunkard beside me!). However, the gals could have put their set together better by stretching out their hits throughout the show. It was odd to see a large amount of people leaving through the encore.

While they played all the fav songs they could have engaged the crowd more...they seemed to play one song right after the other..

It was an awesome concert - they took us through the years with all of their music. Would have been nicer if there hadn't been so many "pot" smokers in our area - just saying!! Lots of people standing often blocked the view. Not used to this as the arena in Victoria does not allow standing and dancing during the concerts.

  • Great seasoned performers amazing stage presence

We loved seeing these women after 7 year hiatus. They were stellar. Knowing what they endured from ultra right wing Tea Party types for daring to criticize their government make us admire them even more. A story of life, a story of endurance, and a story of dedication. I only regret those that chose to stand up all night in front of other people attending concert. That's a comment about human impoliteness. Perhaps these folks could learn something from the Dixie Chicks. In spite of this concert was fantastic and the encore was an 11 out of 10.

  • AMAZING

by idmom on 2013-10-29Rogers Arena - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was awesome. It was a huge sing-a-long. The opening act Charlie Mars was NOT good. Maybe with a full band and back up singers he might have been better but it was a long 45 minutes listening to a guy who had really bad lyrics. The DCX were amazing and I hated that the night ended.

Their talent is amazing. The vocals were perfection. They are such good musicians, it is a pleasure to watch them and hear them! They interact with the whole band and engage the audience from beginning to end.

  • Good Concert

We were in the nose bleeds seats so the sound wasn't the greatest. We even had presale but the seats were not that good. Dixie Chicks were really good though, would go see them again no problem

So glad they are on tour again. Was worth every penny spent. Even after being gone for what seven years they still sound amazing!

They did it again. They put on an unforgettable concert. I laughed, I danced, I sang along, and I cried. It was a magical night.

Simple set, poor opening act but from the moment they walked out on stage it was an incredible show - every minute :)

The women & the rest of the band can play. Natalie Maines has one if the best voices in music. Enjoyed it a great deal.

Such a great show - awesome band - love it when an artist sounds the same live as they do on the radio....rather rare compared to some singers these days.

This was an awesome show. Wasn't impressed with opening act but the Chicks outdid themselves, they were just beyond outstanding. They played pretty much non stop near 2 hours it was fabulous. Thank you ever so much for coming to BC where we could enjoy the talent first hand.

Saw them in Vancouver last Saturday, and wish I could follow them through this tour. The crowd loved them as they walked us through a collection of hits we all know and love. Their musical abillity is impeccable and their voices absolute perfection. The chicks looked like they were having fun too and really went crazy during the encore performance. Amazing. Loved every minute they were on stage.
