The Chicks are one of country music’s most influential and boundary-pushing groups. Formed in Dallas, Texas, in 1989 by sisters Emily Strayer and Martie Maguire, The Chicks (formerly known as the Dixie Chicks) rocketed to pop stardom with the addition of lead vocalist Natalie Maines in 1995. The multi-platinum trio would go on to win 12 Grammy Awards and become the best-selling female band of all time in the U.S., with 33 million albums sold worldwide. By blending honky-tonk with bluegrass and soaring pop vocals, The Chicks appealed to a diverse audience that stretched far beyond their country roots. Signature hits like 1999’s “Cowboy Take Me Away” and 1998’s “Wide Open Spaces,” along with their bluegrass virtuosity, saw The Chicks go from opening for Tim McGraw in 1999 to headlining massive concert tours that have sold over $100 million in tickets. 2020’s Gaslighter (produced by Jack Antonoff) was The Chicks’ first album in 14 years, and the catalyst for a 2023 tour where country-pop superstar Maren Morris will join the trio on a string of dates.

All I can say is wow. The chicks were even better than I had imagined. I would see them again if they go on another tour! Best concert ever!
The Chicks are phenomenal. They are extremely talented and have a strong, attractive stage presence. They are polished, professional and keep their show moving along in a very engaging manner. So, all this said, it was really too bad we couldn't hear them. Clearly. At all. The lyrics of their songs were all mushy and undecipherable. I am sure this is not because they did not sing without excellent diction and annunciation. It is because of the crappy sound at Rogers Place. Sitting in the fourth row of the Upper Bowl, in section 204, found us all trying to hear what exactly they were singing about . . . . no luck. Asking those around us if perhaps their younger ears could hear things we could not, they too said the sound was a terrible and Rogers was known as an "echo chamber". So disappointing for all the excellent performers and their fans.
Just as you hear them on the radio or on CDs, The Chicks performed several signature tunes as well as new ones. No breaks, just straight through music for nearly 2 hours!
Marren Morris was absolutely fantastic and I like her crowd interaction and when The Chick's came on they knocked the rest of the night out of the park. This was my 1st time seeing them and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I found they played mostly new music which was very disappointing. The show was also too political. While I agree with their political stances and like that they are so outspoken, i want to have fun at a concert and not have the majority of the concert be pushing an agenda . Many of the songs I came to hear they did not play and I'd have to sit through 5 new songs that I've never heard of to hear 1 or 2 old ones. Their vocals and musical talent were top notch but overall would not go to see them again.
We had a drink girl in our section and ruined the concert for everyone around us told event staff three time’s security warned her once .
The show itself was great however a women seated in the row in front of us barfed all over her spot and disrupted the show for a while .. had to be cleaned etc. so that was distracting and gross!
My daughter and I went to hear all of the songs we sang along with in the past and were pleasantly surprised with awesome new music as well. The chicks have energy and swagger and talent beyond belief. Maren Morris added to the evening with her powerful vocal performance, Best concert EVER.
The Chicks never disappoint! Amazing performance! Would love to see the show all over again!
Absolutely loved the show! They were so entertaining! I hope next time I see them play it’s at the new downtown Saskatoon events centre! Whoop!
The concert was excellent! Opener Maren Morris did a great job to get the crowd ready to rock! Chicks started on time and play for about 1 1/2 hrs, no breaks. The Chicks did not disappoint with song choices. Loved their back drop videos they were very entertaining. It would be nice if the music was not so loud so you can hear the vocals more. To the SaskTel Centre the seating on the floor needs to be spaced out between seats. You have to sit sideways or on the edge of your seat cause there is no room, you are squished in like sardines and I also I would like the option to print my tickets. Thanks Chicks!!! Loved it!!!
This is such a musically-talented group! The concert was fabulous and we were blown away by how good they sounded. The Chicks are not afraid to speak their mind and sing about sensitive topics, and we love them for it!
The chicks are amazing musicians and super talented, absolutely love their music. Wish they would keep it at entertaining their audience as we don’t need to know their political agendas especially in Canada - we have enough by issues!
Had planned on maybe not going but glad I did as the concert was one of the best I have ever been to. Both acts where very good and had a wonderful time
I paid over $200 for my ticket. I knew what my night was going to entail as soon as two blondes with large name tags on their chest saying “Marianne” and “Wanda” took the two seats beside me! They were already drunk and the show hadn’t even started. Slow song or fast, those two had the same “moves” flailing their arms almost hitting me on several occasions and leaving on four occasions to go get more drunk juice. By the third and fourth time elbowing and stepping on me was no big deal. Stay home if getting drunk is your goal. Don’t ruin it for others. I came to hear and see the Chicks not to tolerate two drunk LOSERS! As for The Chicks, I must say there were gaps of not great. I think they need to revise their playlist and mix it up a bit more. There was a gap of about six songs that were slower or newer and you could feel and see a lull in the “entertainment”. A woman was catching up on her social media during this lull. And the two occasions when they were changing tte stage…much too long leaving notable gaps there as well.
The concert started off great with lots of excitement and energy! But then there was an extended period that they played newer songs and slower songs which lasted forever. Then they played two of their hits and that was it. They needed to play more of there hits and well known songs. No encore and they only played for 1 hour and 50min. For the price it was a disappointing concert. I would not go see them again.
They are very talented musicians and talented singers and I had always heard many good things about their concerts. The concert had too much propaganda. A song or 2 about your beliefs is fine but it was more than half an hour of the show and took away from the overall experience. I would not see them again.
Second time seeing the Chicks. Love their music and the fact that they play their own instruments. The concert was a decent mix of new songs and older hits. Did not appreciate politics being brought into the show or the virtue signalling song they wanted us to all sing along to. It seemed to kill the good vibes for a bit. But overall, a great show.
The Chicks did not disappoint. So much talent on one stage! Maybe it is old age, but I find the volume for the instruments often overpowers the vocals. The only other complaint is rowdy fans spilling drinks on other patrons - not cool. Too much chatter going on during the performance too. Incredibly disrespectful to the performers who are giving it their all.
The only way it could have been better is if there was more time for more of their music to be shared!
