About

Since forming in 1989 in Dallas, Texas, The Chicks (formerly knowns as "Dixie Chicks") have gone on to become one of the most successful female groups in music history, selling millions of albums worldwide, embarking on record-breaking tours and earning numerous industry awards. The group's original lineup consisted of sisters Martie and Emily Erwin, bassist Laura Lynch and guitarist Robin Lynn Macy. The Chicks released their debut album Thank Heavens for Dale Evans in 1990—an infectious mix of bluegrass and back-to-basics country. After extensive touring, the group returned with Little Ol' Cowgirl in 1992, soon followed by 1993's Shouldn't a Told You That. By the time of the group's major-label debut, Wide Open Spaces, released in 1998, The Chicks' lineup had settled to include Martie and Emily Erwin along with new member Natalie Maines. Wide Open Spaces was a smash hit for the trio, containing the chart-topping songs "I Can Love You Better," "There's Your Trouble" and "Wide Open Spaces." The Chicks won numerous awards for Wide Open Spaces, including a Horizon Award and Best Vocal Group from the Country Music Association as well as a Grammy for Best Country Album. 1999 saw the release of the multi-platinum album Fly yielding the hit singles "Ready to Run" and "Goodbye Earl." The group returned to a more roots-y sound with 2002's Home, full of acoustic guitars, fiddles and stunning vocal harmonies. After a four year wait, the group released Taking the Long Way in 2006. Featuring the talents of legendary producer Rick Rubin along with an all-star lineup of collaborators and co-songwriters, the rock-meets-country album was another huge success for the trio.

I love the Dixie chicks I have all their albums and would love for them to come to the US. I feel so bad for what they had to go through.
