These bands have been around for a LONG time, I understand that some 'original' members are no longer with them, but yet for the most part these bands remained intact where it counted most, i.e. the sound. Stage presence is one thing and these acts still had that, but it was the sound that mattered most, and they came through. Of course, some of the higher notes may no longer be achieved, but given that in those instances it is due to the fact that they are now being performed by 70-year olds...I have no problem with that.
Both days were fabulous, entertaining shows that were run with extreme precision, i.e. if a band had 75 minutes allotted, that IS how long they played. I have seen every one of these groups perform before, and at 'worst' I'd give one or two a 4/5, nobody was 'phoning it in'.
Aside from this weekend in New York, this lineup will never return so if you missed out - you really did. That said, if any of the following: Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Eagles, Earth, Wind & Fire, Journey, or Fleetwood Mac, are on your bucket list, they are easily still worthy of a ticket should they still be touring near you. All in all, a great weekend and I was LUCKY to attend.
