Such an amazing performance on both accounts! The lips brought the house down, literally
Absolutely mind blowing show! The effort put into the stage performance is outstanding, over 50 large ballon's passed over the crowd filled with confetti, there were light, laser shows.. 'umpa lumpa' type characters dancing on stage. The music was fabulous and if I could go everyday, I would ;)
Phenomenal!!!! The Flaming Lips make you want to pee and Spoon was just a strong band altogether. Lovely Lovely comncert.
Such a fun band, both visually and musically. Starting with the "spacewalk" in the large plastic bubble, huge balloons, and confetti cannons, the show just got better and better. They were having as much fun on stage as we were in the audience. Played their two "hits" "She Don't Use Jelly" and "Yoshimi" and a good selection of other stuff too. Good show!
This was my second time seeing The Flaming Lips, it was so much fun, they put on an amazing performance. Its unreal my best concert ever. Not just musically but so entertaining and the best of it is , is that the performorers are having as much fun as us and it shows!!!! thats what I love!!!
From the very beginning to the very end, The Lips put on an insane show. Wayne rolling around the crowd in a giant plastic bubble, confetti, balloons, streamers, and people in giant animal suits are just a few of the tricks they threw at the crowd. A great setlist spanning their entire career, though i'm sure more than a few people were disappointed there were no Dark Side Of The Moon songs. The entire time they were getting the crowd involved, making it a much more intimate experience. Maybe it's still too soon after the show, but i'd say it was the best show i've ever seen. They really, really worked hard to have a fun, theatrical engaging show and they accomplished it and then some.
I've seen hundreds of shows and this may have been the best! Not just a rock band, they put on a show!
This was my seventh time seeing the band and they just keep getting better. They used to have christmas lights and bubbles and now it is the confetti air cannons, the space bubble, huge baloons and a multitude of other great props. Besides being a fantastic visual show, the Lips' new album sounds like their best yet... along with great acoustic versions of some classics, these guys are still the best pshycadelic rock act out there.
Spoon was my main reason for attending, and I was quite dissapointed with how it ended up. Spoon's music just doesn't seem very well suited for a large venue like the Molson Ampi. I think I would've much preferred to see them in a smaller venue like the Mod Club or Sound Academy. Flaming Lips kicked all kinds of ass though! Amazing visuals and great quality, both from far away and right up on the floor. The lowlight for me would have to be the lame merch; I would've loved a t-shirt from any of these bands!
A truely fantastic experience. High energy, impressive stage show. Band was super positive with great sound and an amazing interaction with the crowd.
Amazing show. Crazy lights, space orb, lasers, dancers, smoke, confetti, disco balls, bears, giant butterfly and catfish, and more! What more could you want?!
I've seen the Flaming Lips a few times, and every time they are just brilliant - so entertaining.
I've been to a lot of concert but I had never experienced anything like that until last night. Confetti, streamers, lights, space bubbles, giant hands with lasers. Truly a stellar show. I would see them again in a heart beat. They were already one of my favourite bands but now they've reached a special place with a select few others. Spoon was also amazing. Extremely strong set with fan favourites. Tokyo Police Club was very sloppy, was actually a really weak performance. And Fang Island was stellar. They truly seemed glad and enthused to be playing with the Flaming Lips and Spoon. The audience seemed to enjoy it too. I actually left early from work to catch Fang Island after being impressed with their album.
Amazing energy throughout 2 hr set. Played all our favorites, not just their latest record.
It was the third time I had seen the Flaming Lips in the last two years and I have never been disappointed. Their stage show is phenomenal. No one has yet to beat this show in terms of presence and overall satisfaction. Everytime we have seen them we think that the show couldn't possibly be over as it goes by way too fast. If you have never seen them and don't listen to their music you will still have an amazing time as I did the first time I saw them. I will see them every chance I get.
