About

THE GREGG ALLMAN BAND IN CONCERT:

Southern rock legend and multiple Grammy Award-winner Gregg Allman first won over fans with The Allman Brothers Band more than 40 years ago, and he's still bringing his inimitable talents to the stage with The Gregg Allman Band. This Rock and Roll Hall of Famer gives it everything he's got in concert, leading his band through barn-burning jams and switching between guitar and keyboards to treat audiences to a non-stop party. But it all comes back to his signature vocals – a combination of country twang and bluesy howl – which will have fans singing along with classics like "Midnight Rider", "One Way Out", and "Whipping Post". The Gregg Allman Band always brings the house down, giving ticket buyers all the epic solos, hard-driving rhythms, and killer tunes they've come to expect from this preeminent rocker over the course of his storied career.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Gregg Allman grew up in Daytona Beach, FL where he and his older brother Duane played in local bands starting in the mid-'60s. Following some moderately successful stints in the music business, the two relocated to Macon, GA and formed The Allman Brothers Band. The group dazzled crowds with their epic concerts, and even caught on with the mainstream rock audiences by the dawn of the '70s. But things began to fall apart for the group when a motorcycle accident claimed Duane's life in 1971. Following the tragedy, Gregg released his solo debut Laid Back in 1973, which created a schism between him and the band. Soon, the excesses of celebrity coupled with group in-fighting tore them apart, leaving Allman to pursue a solo career. His 1986 hit "I'm No Angel" helped Allman revitalize his career, but he truly recaptured the public imagination when The Allman Brothers Band reunited in 1989. The group continued in one incarnation or another for the next 25 years before amicably calling it a day. Back on his own, the legendary singer still brings the bluesy sound and extended jams that fans are looking for with his talented ensemble The Gregg Allman Band.
