The Midnight is a synthwave band consisting of Atlanta-raised singer and songwriter Tyler Lyle and producer Tim McEwan. The pair formed in Los Angeles as a songwriting duo in 2012 and independently released their first EP, Days of Thunder, in 2014. Their debut album Endless Summer followed in 2016, trailed by 2017’s Nocturnal EP and 2018’s Kids. The Midnight reached new heights in 2020 with their third album, Monsters, which marked the duo’s first time charting on the Billboard 200. They also added a new dimension to their live performances by introducing a five-piece band setup.

So much energy!! Loved every minute!! Great show!!
Excellent light showand fantastic energy. One of the best bands to come out of covid times.
Good show. Having fold up chairs all on the floor kind of sucked. Curious to see how that goes in the Gwar show!
They’re a fairly good group and the jazz solos are easily a highlight, but you have to go into their show knowing exactly what you’re gonna get. I’ve heard many people tie them into the 80s influenced revival of music and that isnt necessarily wrong, but at the same time it’s really only an added element to what is otherwise mainly indie rock. So if you’re expecting something more along the lines of synthwave (which is also what their band logo and merchandise seem to promote) you may feel a little misdirected. But if you’ve got an open mind and your like indie rock with a touch of 80s pop elements, then this will appeal to you.
I loved The Midnight, the 80s nostalgia feeling they carry within their songs was so well put on scene at their concert, sounds and lights were great and gave us the full experience of transporting us to a happy place, I couldn’t stop dancing or singing along. I would definitely go see them again.
A throwback to the 80s synth pops! Just amazing! We need more of The Midnight in TO.
I think we should ban cellphone videos because I spent most of the night trying to see over a sea of arms in the air, of people trying to capture a video instead of enjoying the actual show. And I was pretty close to the front. It’s really disappointing, and kind of ruined the night. I would love to see a venue that discourages that.
I showed up at 8, to catch the opening act, Flamingosis. I danced and grooved nonstop for the entire 40 mins he was on stage; he even gave a shout-out to the dance circle that I and a bunch of wonderful people created for his entire set. As soon as Flamingosis ended, I went home. I'm sure The Midnight put on a good show, but Flamingosis killed it, no doubt about that. Please bring him back as a headliner sometime. The city could use much more funk.
