    The Musical Box was perfect!

by Anth on 2011-12-05The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

I was in High School when Genesis performed The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway and it was my favorite album when it first came out ... but I never saw them live for that album. So when I saw The Musical Box perform a perfect re-creation of the original show I was beyond completely amazed. The lead singer was so much like Peter Gabriel that it gave me goosebumps. He also moved around the stage like Gabriel would have and wore exact replica costumes. The band was note for note perfect and the sound was balanced so well that I'm sure it must have exceeded the original performance. I've seen Genesis perform live several times and would have to say The Musical Box is completely up to their standard. Awsome, amazing, mesmerizing and spectacular!

    The Musical Box - Incredible!

by Stib on 2011-12-05The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Have seen The Musical Box four times now, but the Lamb show on Saturday was truly the best I've ever seen. The faithful recreation of the Lamb Lies Down on Broadway concert was exact in every detail from the remarkable musicianship to the precise achievement of Peter Gabriel's every sound and movement. The set pieces and costumes were a marvelous detail completing this experience. No wonder Phil Collins said The Musical Box played Genesis better than the original band!! I would happily pay to see any show these talented musicians performed and look forward to their next effort!

Great show 5th time I have seen it. This band is awesome and as usual lived up to their reputation. Though I enjoy Selling England by the Pound (musically) any show these guys do is unforgettable. We now have taken our son to all their shows since he was nine and its awesome to see him enjoy them. Two thumbs UP

Musical Box was great! - exceeded expectations!

by progkinocker on 2011-12-05The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

I have waited a long time to see these guys, I have seen videos and heard audio over the years. Everything exceeded my expectations! I was kind of reserved on the amount of money I paid... 189 bucks for two tickets. BUT after I seen the show I will definetly pay that again to see these guys. The venue sound at the Danforth Music Hall was great, being a smaller venue (compared to Massey) it was very 'up close-and personal' The seats were very comfortable and didn't have any problems with moving around or getting comfortable. There was a couple times they had feedback and the guitarist had some issues at the start. I dragged my wife along to see this concert, she is not much into prog music in general but she likes Genesis. After the performance my wife told me it was incredible and she enjoyed it. She asked me when are they coming to town again! 8-)

    Musical box was Awesome again!

by Jonesy14 on 2011-12-04The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Musical box was awesome once again! My 26 year old son and I have made it a tradition to see the Musical Box whenever they come to town. I am so impressed with the originality of the band and all of the mannerism's they have that I can remember about the original Genesis member especially Gabriel. The only down side is the venues that allow alcohol in the building. I'm not against beer in the lobby before or during a break but to really enjoy the storytelling of this band it's hard to hear when people around you are hammered and talking out loud. This spoils the meaning of the band and the story's they were trying to convey prior to each epic Genesis song. I think the best place in Toronto to see this band has got to be Massey Hall where you can drink but not in the theatre. Great show anyways!!!

    A trip back in time!

by Staman40 on 2011-12-04The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Being a Genesis fan who was not old enough to see them in the early days, The Musical Box was a great way to "re-experience" them. The musicanship was unbelievable and the encores of The Musical Box and Watcher of the Skies were a great bonus. Only complaint was that, at times, "Gabriel's" vocals got lost in the mix.
