  • Amazing as always!

The Musical Box never disappoints. I will go to see them every time they're in town! And the Danforth Music Hall is such a great sounding hall! What a night!

  • Keep It Coming

I've seen this band numerous times (Black show, White, Rainbow, Foxtrot, Pound-a few times, Extravaganza 1+2) and they never fail to entertain. Sound is excellent, lights and affects follow the Genesis signature to a tee. Tres Bien ! Formidable ! See you in Oakville in the spring !

  • The Musical Box provides a true Genesis experience once more

by Johnbhoy on 2020-01-13The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

First time at the Danforth Music Theatre. A creaky old venue, but it provided an intimate experience.

  • The musical box

by Gman on 2020-01-13The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 1 out of 5

My 10th time as usual where i happened to sit where rowdy ingnoran fans started shouting at the top of lungs ,thus ruining a otherwise great show i left before the second half,no more danforth music hall shows for me.

  • Still the best Genesis tribute band

by Roxy Roller on 2020-01-13The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

I have seen The Musical Box before when they have performed a little better (especially Suppers Ready) I really enjoyed seeing the ‘77 Wind & Wuthering tour white lighting. Btw - I travelled a great distance to the Pickering Town Centre Ticketmaster to buy tickets only to find out it had closed despite the website saying it was open ... that was NOT impressive.

  • Musical Box -Awesome!...DMH less so.

by livemusicmatters on 2020-01-13The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Great tribute band doing everything within their control to create an experience that would rival seeing the original band (Genesis~!) Really well done! The danforth music hall "orchestra" or main hall seating is quite frustrating. I am 5'10" and the person in front of me was roughly the same height yet the stage was 40% obstructed. These are $100 tickets and i had to choose which side of the stage i wanted to watch at any given time. My son (5'7") had no one seated directly in front of him and he still could not see the far left of the stage all night. I think the answer lies in fewer rows or creating a proper theatre pitch to the floor below the seating. For our part, we will buy balcony seating next time.

  • The Genesis Experience

Every time I see the Musical Box, I get a full Genesis experience. I imagine that Genesis is playing live.

  • A Superlative Trick

by Frank G on 2020-01-13The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Exquisite musicianship starting with Eleventh Earl, all through Trick of the Tail and on to Selling England by the Pound. Will be back with The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway next year. Can't wait!

  • Doesn't Get any Better Than This!!

by PJC on 2020-01-13The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This will be the closest you'll get to the original. Fantastic set-list and the sound and look of Genesis in the Gabriel days from the early to mid 70's. Highly recommend for die hard fans to watch this amazing show!!!!!! They even included some Collin songs just after Gabriel left the band. I see them everytime they come to Toronto and the surrounding area, worth every penny!!!!

  • Memory lane strikes again!!

    by B. M. on 2020-01-13The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Overall a great trip down memory lane...if ur in the mid 60’s age group u probably knew most of the songs they did...musically they are amazing, the sound was good and the show totalled around 2.5 hrs of music...only weak spot was the lighting, having seen Genesis a few times back then I was hoping for better theatrics but hey...I heard tunes live I haven’t heard for decades done really well and that’s what matters most...they will be back next year focusing on “The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway” and I will be there again!!

  • Fabulous recreation

by Lmtjoy on 2018-04-18Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 5 out of 5

If you know the actual production of Genesis’s “Selling England By The Pound”, you will notice that this was an authentic recreation and was amazingly performed in character right down to the stage setup and where and how the musicians sat! Fabulous concert!

  • Great rendition

by Fudgeboy on 2018-04-17Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 4 out of 5

I had waited a long time to see the musical box. I thought they did an amazing rendition of Genesis the way they were back in the day. Two thumbs up. Extremely talented musicians.

  • Musical Box was outstanding!

    by Drapes62 on 2018-04-17Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 5 out of 5

For fans of early Genesis the Musical Box is a must see show. The recreation of the early 70's tour with all the hits from Selling England by the Pound and the incredible Supper's Ready played note for note with the props and antics of Gabriel made this an outstanding show that I have and will continue to see again and again.

  • Show goes ahead despite ice storm

by CChay on 2018-04-17Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 4 out of 5

I have seen the show before and it is excellent. I question the judgement of the venue/promoter/band for continuing with a show when SO many fans could not get there because of a major ice storm in Ontario. OPP were telling people to stay off the roads. You do NOT mess with ice!!! So they played to a half empty venue. And on their facebook page they showed absolutely no empathy for their fans who threw their money away on tickets. I won't be spending hard earned money on their show again.

  • Take a little trip back, with Father Musical Box!

by Avalon58 on 2018-01-11The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Thought my 15 TMB shows was impressive, but the guy beside me was on his 53rd show. Needless to day this band certainly has it's following. I guess if you are still around after 25 years and 1,000+ shows you must be doing something right. Once again I was not disappointed, and the band performed the SEBTP tour extremely well. We are fortunate to have these stalwarts on tour, giving us old farts a seldom glimpse into the classic art/prog rock of the early to mid 70's.

  • Musical Box Never Disappoints

by Moby22 on 2018-01-10The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Outstanding show. It was if I picked the set list. Also a shout out to the sound guy. It was perfect clarity and just the right amount of volume.

  • Thank you to The Musical Box

by DangerousDan on 2018-01-08The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This collection of musicians from Montreal has been spoiling us for so long there is a danger that both they and the fans will begin to take this for granted. Friday night's show was proof that neither side has allowed this to happen. The dedication of the band to always deliver their best and the fans to fill the hall and really enjoy and appreciate the event was on full display, as it has been in each of the 30+ times I have had the pleasure of being there. I know that it is a privilege to continuously see my favourite band perform my favourite songs live so many times in such a timeless way. It seems that the only thing getting old here is me! Thank you to Genesis and Peter Gabriel for allowing this to happen!! I eagerly await the next local performance!

  • The Musical Box - Genesis clones

by Nukeop73 on 2018-01-08The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

For younger Peter Gabriel era Genesis fans, basically anyone born after 1965 or so, this show is a must. The Musical Box recreates the stage show of early Genesis performances to a tee. Undoubtedly the best cover band of any artist of any era. One would think they were back in 1974 watching the actual band. Truly awe inspiring.

  • The Musical Box at the Danforth Jan 5 2018

by Bowtied62 on 2018-01-08The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

A great show The Musical Box never disappoints. I was so glad that seating was brought in to the Danforth for this show. The Musical Box announced that they will be returning to The Danforth next January and will be performing The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, i will be in attendance.
