About

The Offspring are a punk rock band from Garden Grove, California. Led by founding member, lead vocalist and guitarist Dexter Holland since 1986, The Offspring have released 11 studio albums and sold over 40 million records globally. The band’s self-titled debut arrived in 1989, followed by 1992’s Ignition and 1994’s Smash. Behind breakout Mainstream Rock Airplay singles “Come Out and Play,” “Self Esteem” and “Gotta Get Away,” Smash went on to sell over 11 million records, earn six RIAA platinum certifications and set the record for the highest-selling album released by an independent label. Ixnay on the Hombre in 1997 notched The Offspring’s first No. 1 single on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with “Gone Away,” while 1998’s Americana hit the band’s chart peak at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 on its way to netting five RIAA platinum certifications and three more Alternative Airplay Top 10 singles: “The Kids Aren’t Alright,” “Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)” and “Why Don’t You Get a Job?” The Offspring later topped the Alternative Airplay chart again with “Hit That” from 2003’s Splinter and “You're Gonna Go Far, Kid” from 2008’s Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace. The Offspring logged two more Mainstream Rock Airplay chart-toppers with “Coming for You” and the title track from 2021’s Let the Bad Times Roll. In 2024, The Offspring released their 12th album Supercharged

Nothing can beat an all out balls to the wall rock concert. Offspring rocked the Corral. They made a hot sweaty old build hotter and sweatier. There are a few more cracks to the Corral foundation.

  • The Offspring was fantastic!

by Bammoro on 2009-07-14UBC THUNDERBIRD ARENA - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

The Offspring concert was definitely unforgettable. They happened to be playing in Vancouver on my birthday, which was awesome! The show quality was outstanding, and I would certainly recommend this event to a friend next time they're in town.

  • Offspring was killer!!

by Weiner on 2009-07-14Stampede Corral - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

It was awesome to rock out to their old tunes, it was a better concert than the one I saw in the mid 90s in Edmonton. Dexter even had beautiful piano set on his own without the band which was great!

  • Great concert, great venue - but very rough

by Arabidopsis on 2009-07-14UBC THUNDERBIRD ARENA - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

I quite enjoyed this concert. The Offspring were great live and played everything we wanted to hear. The new stadium at UBC is incredible and the acoustics were great. No complaints whatsoever about the concert itself. Definitely a rough concert on the floor though. Expect lots of moshing and crowd surfing. If that's not your thing, make sure to not get floor tickets.

  • Offspring: Pretty Fly For Old White Guys

    by u21of on 2009-07-14Stampede Corral - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

I've been an Offspring fan for over a decade now and having the opportunity to see them live is something I won't forget. The lead up to Offspring was a bit more "turn down the suck" than I would have liked it to have been. I also find it aggravating when bands pander to the crowd to get a rise- I'm looking at you Street Dogs (if that was even the opening band name, as you can gather they left a lasting impression) with your build up to unveiling a Flames t-shirt. Shiny Toy Guns were ok, nothing to write home about. The Offspring came out kicking and continued on through the night. The set list was littered with their older hits and some new material.Good stage production value coupled with a high energy performance. The Offspring set even included an amusing intermission complete with classic intermission music, beach ball throwing and an impromptu dance number provided by the sound techs. It's funny though, as I realized that "Wow the guys have aged pretty well". Cheers to Offspring for keeping the music entertaining, keeping their sense of humour and most of all retaining the social relevance. Overall, if you enjoyed the hay day of Alternative or pseudo-punk, go see them. It's worth it. There is one thing to be said though, 3/4 of the crowd was old enough to know them from some point in the 90's. Some know the more current songs and some people were just there to act like idiots.

  • Best live band!

by Yendor on 2009-07-14Stampede Corral - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen the Offspring several times and they are the best live band. Love their new stuff and their old stuff, and they played a great mix of both. However, the Corral has horrible acoustics and it makes the music sound muffled, so I hope they choose a different venue next time they pay Calgary a visit.

  • Who gives a damn.

by teeks on 2009-07-14UBC THUNDERBIRD ARENA - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Honestly, I've seen a lot of amazing bands and this is the second time I've seen the offspring. They are FANTASTIC, their live stuff is not too much off the record and they definitely know how to get a crowd worked up. I give them five fat thumbs up, and if I could I'd marry them.

  • Offspring was the best concert ever!

by pnjunkie on 2009-07-14Stampede Corral - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

They played all of their greatest songs. Great fun!

  • Offspring has still got it!!!

by LauraMae on 2009-07-14Stampede Corral - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

These guys were amazing live! Quite the energetic show they put on. I would definitely take the opportunity to see them again if they come back to Calgary.

  • Miss the first half of the show. Trust Me!!

by Friday on 2009-07-14Stampede Corral - CalgaryRating: 3 out of 5

For starters i would reccomend missing the first half of the show. Street Dogs have tied for first place with A Textbook Tragedy(not at this show) for the worst bands ive ever seen. Three times Street Dogs singer requested a circle pit. The third time he was begging and still nothing. I had to leave and go stand in the beer line. Shiny Toy Guns was a little better. Although after they played their single i spent the rest of their set trying to remember what commercial i seen it on. Then came Offspring which made everything worth while. It was like a resurrection. Everyone felt the energy. Their sound was amazing. The whole building vibrated as every fan sang along to single after single. Offspring rocked! Id see them anytime. As for the other 2 bands a free show wouldnt even be worth it.

  • The Offspring kill at the corral

by Stampy on 2009-07-14Stampede Corral - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

I missed the opening acts because game seven was on at the Casino. From what I heard, I made a good choice. Just as we got to the show, the beer stands were closing but the main event did not even start. Shame on the Corral for taking fun away from an otherwise excellent show.

  • The Offspring was totally awsome

by tammikins on 2009-07-14Stampede Corral - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

This was the BEST concert that I think I have ever seen in my life. The Bands were great especially the Offspring they are one of my absolut favorites. The stage show was awsome and I totally enjoyed it. The best part had to of been when the lead singer of The Offspring Started to play the piano and played the peanuts theam song. All in all again it was the BEST concert ever and I would love to see them again if they ever came back to Calgary.

  • The Offspring - Amazing show

    by ka8f on 2009-07-14UBC THUNDERBIRD ARENA - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Didn't really know if they would still have it after all these years. They did. The concert was amazing! I would deinately recommend it to anyone. They rocked out.

  • Offspring STILL GOT IT!

by solobacc on 2009-07-14Stampede Corral - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

I was really upset about missing The Offspring the last time they were in Calgary, and I waited (a good long while) and I have to admit I had extra high expectations for a show at the Stampede Corral. Lucky for me, the two opening acts Street Dogs and Shiny Toy Guns were spunky, upbeat and showed a lot of energy and involvement with the crowd, so that when the Offspring hit the stage, I was really pumped! The Offspring didn't let me down, they played all my favorites with added enthusiasm, and rocked the newer stuff (that I wasn't all that into, but became stuck in my head afterwards) until I blown away by a live, acoustic piano rendition of 'Gone Away'. They had an 'intermission' that was hilarious, a stage hand (or possibly manager) came out to guide the crowd's movements in time to a cheesy old-movie theatre snack-shopping theme while the other stage hands threw beach balls to the crowd. My night was completed when they rocked out hardcore with 'The kids aren't Alright' that had everyone in the building singing. Overall, I was satisfied with the performance and can't wait until they return again!

  • The Offspring was AMAZING!

by Llora on 2009-07-14Stampede Corral - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

I have waited 12 years to see these guys, and they did not let me down! They were absolutely mind-blowing. Every song I could have ever wanted to hear live, they played. I really hope I don't have to wait so long to see them again...

  • The Offspring ROCK!

by PetuniaBC on 2009-07-14UBC THUNDERBIRD ARENA - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was awesome. Shouting out Offspring songs with the band from being to end and i left the concert feeling happily horse. Can't wait for them to come back

  • offspring was good times

by welder on 2009-07-14Stampede Corral - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

This was my second time seeing the offspring. The first time had an awesome stage show with midgets. This time they dropped the stage show and let the music stand on it's own. Great energy good sound but missing the midgets.

  • The Offspring was a blast from my past!

by ProStyle on 2009-07-14UBC THUNDERBIRD ARENA - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Great show. These guys did an awesome job live... they really got the crowd going... a lot more intense on the floor than I expected! They played many of their older classics which was great to hear. Really made me feel like I was back in high school! Haha Definitely recommend seeing "The Offspring" live.

  • the offspring rocked

    by fritz1057 on 2009-07-14Stampede Corral - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

it was great to get to see a band with so much energy after being away for awhile

  • Offspring was too short!!

by Candi on 2009-07-14Stampede Corral - CalgaryRating: 1 out of 5

I have loved Offspring for well over 15 years and I was quite dissapointed when I went to the concert. There was a couple of bands that played before them (that I didn't know) which was fine, but what pissed me off was that the lesser known bands played longer than Offspring did. The doors opened at 6, Offspring came on around 9:30 - 10:00 and played for about 45 minutes. I didn't pay good money to watch 3 hours of nusic I've never heard before and only 45 minutes of the band that I was there to see. When they finally came on stage they were great, but they just weren't on long enough.
