About

The Offspring are a punk rock band from Garden Grove, California. Led by founding member, lead vocalist and guitarist Dexter Holland since 1986, The Offspring have released 11 studio albums and sold over 40 million records globally. The band’s self-titled debut arrived in 1989, followed by 1992’s Ignition and 1994’s Smash. Behind breakout Mainstream Rock Airplay singles “Come Out and Play,” “Self Esteem” and “Gotta Get Away,” Smash went on to sell over 11 million records, earn six RIAA platinum certifications and set the record for the highest-selling album released by an independent label. Ixnay on the Hombre in 1997 notched The Offspring’s first No. 1 single on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with “Gone Away,” while 1998’s Americana hit the band’s chart peak at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 on its way to netting five RIAA platinum certifications and three more Alternative Airplay Top 10 singles: “The Kids Aren’t Alright,” “Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)” and “Why Don’t You Get a Job?” The Offspring later topped the Alternative Airplay chart again with “Hit That” from 2003’s Splinter and “You're Gonna Go Far, Kid” from 2008’s Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace. The Offspring logged two more Mainstream Rock Airplay chart-toppers with “Coming for You” and the title track from 2021’s Let the Bad Times Roll. In 2024, The Offspring released their 12th album Supercharged

by Jazz on 2009-07-14UBC THUNDERBIRD ARENA - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

  • OFFSPRING WAS EPIC

by cayzee on 2009-07-14Stampede Corral - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

one of the best concerts i have been to and im sure will have ever been to, everyone who went to that show knows what im talking about when i say it simply could not have been any better. the stage presense, the sound qaulity, THE ENTERTAINMENT! also very much enjoyed the supporting acts. they get 5 out of 5 as well. i would go see this band again and again considering they are my favorite band, and i know that they dont come to calgary very often or canada in general. but hopefully my screaming aplause changed their minds. LONG LIVE OFFSPRING.

  • Offspring was INCREDIBLE!!!

    by roxie1742 on 2009-07-14UBC THUNDERBIRD ARENA - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

This was THE most awesome concert ever!!! I dragged my boyfriend to see it with me because he wasn't a fan of them at all and he turned out to be a bigger fan than me after the concert! Overall it was an amazing concert and I hope they don't wait another 4 years before touring again! I want to see them again soon!!! The only thing I regret about this concert is not getting floor tickets, I wish I could have been on the floor instead of the sidelines for this one!

  • Awesome

by Fster on 2009-07-14UBC THUNDERBIRD ARENA - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

I loved the concert. They sound just as good live as they do on cd. everyone got right into the music. It was well done.

  • Offspring is as good as ever!

I've been an Offspring fan for about 15 years now, and they are as good now as the first time I saw them.

  • Worth the 7-year wait

by guymonkey on 2009-07-14UBC THUNDERBIRD ARENA - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

The first time I had a chance to see the Offspring was when I was 12 years old and they came to Edmonton on their Conspiracy of One tour. Obviously, my mother would be having none of it. Spurred by my missed opportunity, I made it a point to listen to as much Offspring as possible to make up for it. Over the next few years, a couple more chances to see them popped up, but every time, something prevented me from going. Fast forward to 2009. I'm 19 years old, living on my own out in Burnaby, and my girlfriend tells me, "Hey, did you know that the Offspring are coming to Vancouver?" Fast forward again to June 10, 2009. I'm standing with my girlfriend outside the UBC Thunderdome confident that we've got two of the earliest tickets, knowing that I bought them as soon as the pre-sales opened up. We get inside and head to the merch table, knowing that there'll be a bit of time before the Offspring take the stage. As I'm scanning the t-shirts on the wall, I start to have doubts. "God... it's 2009... these guys are starting to get up there... I wonder if they've lost their edge. I sure hope it's the Offspring getting up on that stage and not a hollow shell of their former selves..." T-shirts in hand, we make our way to the floor, ready for anything. The techs and roadies are setting up the stage. Lou Bega's Mambo No. 5 is playing through the speakers. We comment on the strange choice of ambience. About 15 minutes after we hit the floor, the lights go down, and the crowd roars in a frenzy. What followed was an hour and a half of chaos that made me feel terrible for every doubting that the 'Spring could deliver. From the display on the screen during the fast-talking parts of Stuff is Messed Up to Dexter's hilarious antics before breaking into a beautiful piano-acoustic version of Gone Away to the completely unexpected Intermission, I was shown that night exactly why I stayed a fan for nearly a decade without ever getting to see them live. It was all to build up to that night. To be able to look around and see that nearly everyone there knew all the words, to instantly feel that sense of camaraderie with every single person in the crowd. It was something else. On top of it all, it was my girlfriend's first concert, so I got to break her in with an A-class act. Definitely one of the top moments in my life. GO SEE THE OFFSPRING!

  • Offspring ROCKS

by Ryeman on 2009-07-14UBC THUNDERBIRD ARENA - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

The Offspring concert was pure insanity! Some bands aren't that good live... Offspring is insane live!!

  • Best show I've been to in a while

by Dinhorin on 2009-07-14Stampede Corral - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

With the exception of the opening acts, there was not one bad thing about this show. They had the audience going hard and fast, and I loved every minute of it. Had the brusies to prove it!

  • Good Show at a Good Price

by LongTimeOffspringFan on 2009-07-14UBC THUNDERBIRD ARENA - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Being a fan of Offspring since they released their second album, I couldn't wait to see them and being able to get floor tickets for $50 made for an awesome experience. They played their classics as well as their new stuff and totally rocked out. Considering how much shows cost these days, this one was well worth the price. I would recommend it to anyone who's a fan. Probably not worth it if you're not too familiar with thier music though.

  • The Offspring Never Fail to Deliver

by clynn on 2009-07-14UBC THUNDERBIRD ARENA - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

Despite getting a little up there in age, The Offspring still give an amazing show. Though they don't move around as much as they used to, they still sound great and play nice long sets. They played everything you might want to hear. They played songs off of every album, though they only played one off of Conspiracy of One. They played a lot from Americana though, which made me very happy

  • Offspring was better than expected

by Greedo on 2009-07-14Stampede Corral - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

They sounded great live. Played alot of there older stuff but mixed in their newer album nicely. They even played a song on piano.

  • Good songs, good sound The Offspring

by Hoffa on 2009-07-14UBC THUNDERBIRD ARENA - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

I was at the June 10th show at U.B.C. Thunderbird Stadium. The setlist was great! The sound was really good. I'd recommend this show to anyone who enjoys live music. The boys from The Offspring should pat themselves on the back, for putting on a Stellar show.

  • Offspring was awesome!

by Clairebear on 2009-07-14Stampede Corral - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

We got last minute tickets, about 3 hours before the concert and it was well worth it! The opening act was great, the second act of Shiny Toy Guns were good but were not the right act to put before Offspring. They needed a more upbeat band like the opening act to keep the crowd going. Offspring was however amazing. My girlfriend and I were side stage and we could still see everything, and have room to dance!

  • Offspring kicked ass!

by Jmac on 2009-07-14Stampede Corral - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

They put on a great show! Sound really good live! They know how to get the crowd going!

  • Offspring is back in my life!!

by babyblue on 2009-07-14UBC THUNDERBIRD ARENA - VancouverRating: 4 out of 5

The Smash album was by far my favourite....and they played a ton of songs from it - so classic!! Great show....although the backdrop affects could have used some work...

  • You gotta keep em' separated

It was nostalgia :) I'm glad they played lots from SMASH!!!!!

  • Offspring has become a family tradition

by Mizkilla on 2009-07-14UBC THUNDERBIRD ARENA - VancouverRating: 5 out of 5

Dating myself, i started listening to Offspring in the early 90's in my early 20's when my boys were young, they grew up listening also. In 2004 when Foxfest came around i thought it would be a great first concert for them, they were 15 and 11. We had a blast so now its become a family tradition for the three of us to go and i am thankful for that time together. We had a great time and will continue to see them as a family. Cheers!!

  • Offspring was Awesom!

by LittleNyx on 2009-07-14Stampede Corral - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

Me and my sister are fans of the older offspring albums, and were weary that they would play all their new stuff that frankly, isn't good at all. But we were both pleasantly surprised and very entertained by the set list. They played all the classics, so we had a great time jumpin' around in the pit! The crowd wasen't as young as I expected it to be either. I think 90% of people where there also for the older songs from our pre-teen days! I was a great show, I would definitely go again if they kept up the good work! Thanks guys!

  • The Offspring

by Faith on 2009-07-14Stampede Corral - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

What a bunch of crazy guys. But they sounded great and gave the audience exactly what they they came for, California Rock! All their hits were played and Self Esteem being the encore really summed up the rest rest of the evening with lots of energy!
