Pink Floyd Experience a Great Trip Down Memory Lan
by WinnipegProgRockFan on 2015-02-16Burton Cummings Theatre - WinnipegIf they allowed half-stars I would have given 4.5! They covered the heyday of Pink Floyd's creative brilliance - Shine on you Animals (Side B) Crazy Diamond (Side B), Meddle (B Side - the entire Echoes piece!), and Dark Side of the Moon (B Side), with interspersed tracks from The Wall and "One of These Days". Their Sound was excellent in a small venue (Burton Cummings), and not overly loud (in fact, could have probably been a bit louder, but i'm not complaining because my 11 year-old daughter was along and enjoyed it as well!) Music was very true to the albums, nice lighting effects. The only weakness i saw was in the vocals - were mixed a bit quiet. But it's understandable - vocals are so particular to the original artists that this is the first area criticisms often arise. They were adequate, but i did miss Gilmour's and Waters' distinctive vocals. Only disappointment to the night was they couldn't float the giant pig through the venue during the Encore (especially disappointing to my daughter!). But they did bring it out after people had filed out so those wanting to see it at least could say that they did. It did peak out from the backstage during parts of the concert. Overall, a great deal - terrific musicians, music/show based, true to the sound as a good Tribute Band should be. Would definitely see them again if they come.
