The Pink Floyd Experience lives up to it's name!

by Anonymous on 2013-03-09Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

An amazing show performed by some very talented musicians! They played all the popular hits as well as some obscure deep cuts. There were definitely some moments with the Quadraphonic Sound where you would believe you were actually attending a Pink Floyd concert...very well done! Strongly recommended for any Pink Floyd fan!!

Not quite as good as I was expecting

by FloydFanForLife on 2013-03-09Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I was a little disappointed by the show. They performed well but Pink Floyd is very well known for their perfomances (lasers, inflatables, animations) and I feel that this was really really lacking in this tour. The picture for the event itself shows the pig floating around! But there were no inflatables, and though there was animation it was blurry and low budget. I guess that is where my dissapointment stems from.... for the price of the tickets I expected them to put on more of a show. That being said, I have been spoiled by seeing The Wall twice as well as Dark Side of the Moon. In addition, the only cover band I've seen before was The Australian Pink Floyd Show and they were AMAZING. I would say that Pink Floyd is one of the hardest bands ever to cover, so that being said the music was good and the sax player was so talented!

this concert was for die-hards,very few hits were played, money was the only hit played in the first half. two hits played in the second half and then on the encore they played three hits. we could of just gone to the last half hour and we would of been better off.if they were specific in there advertising of the content we would of chosen not to go.

The Pink Floyd Experience was Rockin'

by Anonymous on 2013-03-09Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

They had the whole audience engaged. Great show. Loved the lights, effects especially for a smaller venue where there isn't a lot of room for the big set stuff.

    Pink Floyd Experience

by AlthePal on 2013-03-06MTS Centre - Winnipeg

Most of the music, probably 95% of it sounded just like Pink Floyd's music. It was a great night to sit back and listen to Pink Floyd music. Without interruptions. However, I found that the stage effects were lacking some excitement. I think that a focus on The actual band and some video or pictures of the group on the big screen would've been cool. Or interview quotes, props from the Wall album or images from Dark Side. Maybe that becomes more expensive...I don't know?

We enjoyed the concert. Musicians were talented with the ability to play a variety of instruments. Vocals were great. One would think you were actually listening to Pink Floyd. Duration of concert was great. Acoustics at the venue were good. Variety of age group and gender attended concert. Ticket price good.

    Superb old stuff!

    by sash1952 on 2013-03-06MTS Centre - Winnipeg

Being old UK rockers my husband and I well and truly remember the 60's rock scene (yes really!!) To hear the 'oldies' from their early L.Ps was fantastic I had almost forgotten how good they were. Never really liked 'Heart of the Sun' but the Pink Floyd Experience made it sound superb. Loved every minute of the concert and thoroughly recommend it to everyone. They are very talented guys. Saxophonist and bass player both incredible. Also the sound was perfect could hear the words of the songs. I didn't come out with my ears ringing as per the real Pink Floyd! not complaining though...

    Awesome talent

by Alvyf on 2013-03-06MTS Centre - Winnipeg

They shouldn't say anything about light show, it wasn't. First half they played songs only a few 65 year old metal heads would remember, am certain no one listens to that stuff anymore. Seen people leaving the show and not return. The second half was light years better, but again they played some songs only a few would remember. If they would play every song from Bad side of the moon and the Wall, they would be a huge hit. The talent is obvious, they are to a man awesome. The sax, lead guitars, was near perfect Floyd. They nailed Wish You Were Here. I would go back in a heart beat, if they played the hits..

What a disappointment... a lackluster 'experience'

by WinnipegConcertgoer on 2013-03-05MTS Centre - Winnipeg

Pink Floyd Experience Winnipeg Review 2013 MTS Centre I had heard good/great things going into this concert so bought a couple tickets and decided to attend. Now it isn't a bad show, but it just isn't very good. First thing's first -- they don't sound like Pink Floyd. Well, the 'backup' singer sounds reasonably similar to his PF counterpart but the lead singer doesn't sound anything like the lead of PF and it kind of drags it down. The musicianship is good throughout, but it just felt like a well oiled cover band playing on a bigger stage than they deserved -- it was no real 'experience'. On a side note they totally butchered One of These Days, my favourite Floyd song. They totally changed it for some unknown reason and effectively ruined it. On top of that the show? Well yeah, it really wasn't very cool either. I thought if the music wasn't great then the visuals and so on would be worth it anyway... there was barely anything. The standard lights that you see at every concert were present and the standard video screen you see at every concert... really not much special about it (sure the video screen showed more 'trippy' visuals than usual but what do you expect). The 'special effects' weren't even there. I had heard there was a helicopter, a plane crash... yet nothing like that happened. The only 'special' thing was a big inflatable pig came out and was flown around the arena... which doesn't sound very cool and is even less cool when you actually see it. Also they didn't even play Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2) which is the most famous Pink Floyd song out there... weird. They even played the part 1 of the song, and then just called it a night and left. Really?! This doesn't even come close to reaching the greatness of Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience... now THAT is how you do a tribute show the right way and THAT was an experience. I highly recommend buying tickets to that regardless of the price (that's right). BOTTOM LINE: it doesn't sound like Pink Floyd, too many overlong rarities are played, and the visual show is way below what it needed to be. Definitely not a very good or memorable 'experience'. I was quite disappointed by the Pink Floyd Experience and wouldn't say it is worth a ticket over $20 myself (I paid $60+ per ticket).

the Pink Floyd Experience was great!

by jbee on 2012-03-04Casino Rama - Rama

I saw PFE play "wish you were here" in entirety at Casino Rama on Feb 11/12. They did a great job plus an encore of hits from "dark side of the moon" and "the wall". I would recommend them....musically, a good show with psychedelic videos on-screen.

Pink Floyd - a tribute to the band!

by miniwienerowner on 2012-02-16Casino Rama - Rama

We saw this act a year or two ago at Casino Rama and thought it definitely had a more professional feel to it this time around. Lighting and ambiance was improved and the lead singer (I think he's new) was a big improvement. The floating pink pig was a nice touch and reminded us of the Roger Waters concert we'd seen in Toronto in 2007.
