  • An Incredible Performance

by LJ on 2021-12-23FirstOntario Concert Hall - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

These three Tenors and Tyler Shaw really know how to put on an entertaining show. They were real with their personal stories and they engaged the audience. The song selection was excellent, melding both a tradidional set of Christmas songs as well as some newer seasonal songs. The voices of these outstanding men bring me to tears of joy everytime. Christmas is often a time of stress and anxiety for many, trying to balance preparations for the holiday and truly enjoying the spirit of the season. This show made me forget about the crazy uncertain world we live in and actually indulge in some Christmas spirit. It was absolutely a perfect way to start the holidays!

  • Bad Decision/Good Decision

by Pauliwogs on 2021-12-23FirstOntario Concert Hall - HamiltonRating: 1 out of 5

With the Omicron virus in full assault on the City of Hamilton and surrounding area, we were faced with how to deal with the Event Organizer's dubious decision to 'let the show go on'. We made the last-minute decidion to avoid the crowd and do our part to 'stop the spread'. But all is good! Ticketmaster has my money, we don't have Omicron and we still can listen to that beautiful harmony on our in-home stereo, sipping on a glass of GOOD wine, of our choosing! Pandemic life is unfolding as it should! Do I sound bitter? ... you bet!

There was a light touch and apparent joy in this performance by the Tenors that is welcome in otherwise depressing times.

Great voices but too loud. Also too much chatting and not enough singing.

I was most impressed with the efficiency of the NCA staff. Despite Covid precautions in and out was super quick and with no delays or long lines. It helped to take away an overall great night.

What a wonderful way to start the Christmas season. A fabulous concert. Taylor Shaw was a welcome addition. I came in a wheel chair and was impressed by the ushering staff who made it so easy for us to get around. Thank you for your kind care and attention. Your renovations are impressive and we really enjoyed the extra leg room. Thank you.

  • Excellance is in the details

by Lou Martin-Gerhards on 2021-12-20National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 3 out of 5

I enjoyed the performance very much, my litmus test is the tingle you feel when you are moved by the music and I was not disappointed in the music. My thoughts are more around the presentation. When you attend a performance at the National Art Centre (NAC) you expect that everything would be a cut above the rest. I think the initial mood of the audience is set when the curtain rises and the visual stage appears. It took me a while to get past the two forlorn little tress, one on each side of the stage. The tree lights were sparse, and the tree skirts were sad indeed. The "dollar store" bows stuck on the band's platform were askew and missed the attempt at a festive presentation. My spirit was not lifted at the sight of the stage and I think that I may have not been alone as it appeared to me that Mr. Shaw was hard pressed to warm-up the audience. Mr. Shaw's performance was good, and I think would have been very good had their been less "canned" music, its sound overpowered hearing his guitar and enjoying his voice to the fullest. The Tenors, their stance as soon as the walked on stage, changed the tone for me. My sincere thanks for an enjoyable evening, and perhaps the next time it will be a spectacular evening with a bit of attention to the detail. Sincerely Lou

  • A Night to Remember!

by Christine on 2021-12-20National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

The Tenors Santa Tour was the first time my husband and I have had the opportunity to attend a live show by this incredible trio! We’ve listened to their CD’s over and over and watched them perform on TV but listening to them I person was one of the best experiences of our lives. Their voices are so rich, powerful and their vocal range is amazing. They were a class act! Also we had not been to the NAC since it was renovated and we were very impressed at the improvements that were made. Our seats were in the orchestra section and the addition of 2 new aisles made a huge difference in the seating arrangements. Plus the renovation of the Women’s Bathroom with alot more toilets than in the past basically eliminated the long line and wait during intermission. A definite PLUS!

  • Amazing, wonderful, spectacular

by Nana on 2021-12-20National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the entire concert. We really needed the night out despite the indecisive rollercoaster ride we went through if we were making the right decision. The pandemic continues to impact all decisions. We needed this night of incredible music to boost our spirits.

  • Garbage

by Rondy Shalbnu on 2021-12-20National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 1 out of 5

This was absolutely disgusting to me. What a grotesque display of horrible singing and saccharine audience interaction. The sound quality was bad and the singers faces appeared twisted and grotesque. Decent piano player though.

The Tenors and their guests were all amazing! Tyler Shaw was great as well and the song with Jake Hoot is now my favorite Christmas song. A wonderful experience!

  • Engaging

The Tenors exceeded our expectations and the show gave us our Christmas spirit which had been missing. The Tenors were engaging, lively, and their voices lifted the roof. Our only criticism is we wanted more dance moves incorporated into their show!
